Gods of Egypt

Saw the ad while I watched the Star Wars 7 movie, I think. I am probably not being open-minded by deciding to totally ignore it, but the special effects looked the same as any other movie of that type. And giant monsters CGI? Come on, even Star Wars 7 didn't look that silly. So I converted the JFK movie by Oliver Stone to 3D for VR glasses and will be watching it soon, instead of the Gods of Egypt or any other mainstream modern movie.

As a person of African descent, these days many things are offensive to my spirit. The war on humanity, especially people of color is very disturbing in more ways than I care to explain at this time. While I was raised to think for myself, my siblings & I had three schools of education. The 1st was the education of self knowledge taught at home by reading books upon books & then writing reports on what we comprehended in books written by people of African decent about our history as well as learning and living the principles of MA'AT. Our 2nd education was in the public realm which was the standardized dumb dumb down books that creates workers & not thinkers. Our 3rd education was being mentored in a trade by a family member or friend of the family, which taught us how to be productive & think logically.

If history books & public education teach children that the history of African Peoples in the New World started as slaves and continue to perpetuate this lie, then is it any wonder that there is a clash of ideas? The people who were enslaved were Doctors, Engineers, Mathematicians, etc., etc. etc. There were also people of African descent living and trading with the people in the Western hemisphere before Columbus was a thought. According to the Paternal DNA lineage of my Brothers, it is the same as Rames III. My brothers are beautiful & they are not represented in this film in any accurate way. This webpage gives more information about the people of KMT. ‪http://realhistoryww.com/world_history/ancient/Egypt_Pre_historic.htm.

As for the Nina Simone portrayal I wonder, there are more than enough beautiful black sisters with full lips, broad noses and full figures they could have chosen from if, they really wanted to do Nina Simone justice. ‪#‎IllSayItForYou‬. Peace.

Thank you for writing 1peacelover, Your contribution has broadened the conversation here, added depth, inspiration and knowledge. Your education has been exemplary and you've been fortunate. I suppose even the dumbing down part has contributed to your wisdom of the world. It is really to bad this film didn't take the opportunity to represent the beauty of the African/Egyptian peoples as you say, that would have added so much to the over all quality.

For some reason I couldn't connect to your link, perhaps the dot at the end. While I looked around, trying to find access to your link in another way I came across this one which is the article you linked I believe. Very startling on how the ancient Egyptian art has been altered to eliminate African features in the temple paintings and statues. Lightening the skin tones, removing noses or giving them a new nose altogether. This is new to me and shocking! I've mentioned here, I have self studied these temple paintings and statues for many years not having a clue some have been altered in this way. After looking at these images for so long, no wonder I and others have this murky and inaccurate understanding of what the "ancient" Egyptians really looked like. http://realhistoryww.com/world_history/ancient/Egypt_Pre_historic.htm

THE VANISHING EVIDENCE OF CLASSICAL AFRICAN CIVILIZATIONS

by Prof. Manu Ampim

The widespread damage to the temple images has allowed Egyptologists to argue from such sources as the temple evidence that ancient Egypt was a multi-racial society and therefore belongs to the world’s heritage and not necessarily to African history. There are probably about a million tourists each year who visit Egypt and Nubia, and they get a totally false view of the identity of the builders of these great civilizations, largely because the evidence of the builders’ Black origin is disappearing. This vanishing evidence has enabled dishonest Egyptologists and tour guides to misrepresent the identity of the founders and builders of ancient Egypt by selectively pointing out the “non-African” images on the walls. Actually, the images which appear to look “non-African” have undergone a racial make-over and look nothing like they did originally. These images have been crudely recarved by European and Arab conspirators who work hard to eliminate all traces of African facial features. Only through exhaustive first-hand research can one demonstrate from the surviving on-site temple evidence that ancient Egypt was a Black civilization.

The altering of Black (African) facial features and the lightening of the skin colors of painted reliefs inside the tombs are central aspects of the conspiracy to destroy the memory of classical African civilizations. The two main conspirator groups carrying out these acts are European and American research teams, and local government workers. Throughout Egypt and Nubia, the tomb images have suffered different levels of decay and destruction. In places such as Giza the tombs are closed as there is little left to see; in Tell Amarna the tomb carvings are in an advanced state of decay; in El Kab and Aswan many of the images have been systematically defaced; and in Beni Hassan only 4 of the 39 tombs are open because the rest are badly damaged. The only major location which has escaped serious tomb damage is Sakkara, but this may not remain true in the future because the conspirators’ work is not complete, until they have destroyed or defaced all the evidence of classical African civilizations.

I think I would appreciate the principles of MA'AT. I have a book written by Muata Ashby, Mysteries of Isis. Its been a long time since I've read that maybe your familiar with his work. He explains how the practice of Hatha yoga came from Egypt not India which is the usual understanding. Here is a painting I did of Maat, a favorite of mine in the Goddesses of Egypt. Alas, I'm afraid she may have had a nose job. So, disappointing! The ramifications of altering the art work in this manner has had a huge impact in many ways. Very deceiving.

I came across this today regarding the new Nina Simone movie... looks like they are still hounding the living daylights out of the movie...

“Simone was in possession of nearly every feature that we denigrated as children. And yet somehow she willed herself into a goddess. …

“We look at Nina Simone’s face and the lie is exposed and we are shamed. We look at Nina Simone’s face and a terrible truth comes into view – there was nothing wrong with her.

“Saldana could be the greatest thespian of her time, but no one would consider casting her as Marilyn Monroe. Indeed Nina’s producers have gone to great ends – tragicomic ends – to invoke Nina Simone’s face, darkening Saldana’s skin, adorning her with prosthetics. Neither the term blackface nor brownface is entirely appropriate here. We are not so much talking about deliberate mockery as something much more insidious. …

“It’s possible that the producers were not, themselves, personally racist. This has no bearing whatsoever on anything. In America, racism is a default setting. To do nothing, to go along with the market, to claim innocence or neutrality, is to inevitably be a cog in the machine of racist hierarchy. …

“… there is something deeply shameful – and hurtful – in the fact that even today a young Nina Simone would have a hard time being cast in her own biopic. In this sense, the creation of Nina is not a neutral act. It is part of the problem.

It’s here that the term appropriation bears some usage. We’re not talking about someone inspired by the deeper lessons of Simone’s life and her music. We are talking about people who think it’s fine to profit off her music while heedlessly contributing to the kind of pain that brought that music into being.

“Cynthia Mort, the film’s director, has pleaded with us to see the film before judging. … in some deep way, black women have already seen Mort’s film. Indeed they’ve been seeing it all their lives.”

This film made me think of Consorsium Illuminati. Two things mainly troubled me. The first thing is the eye of Horus. The film presents Horus as Orion (the giant who lost his eyes). The Two Eyes of Horus are ultimately shared between evil (Seth) and the good (Horus). In the land of the pyramid, the eye could therefore mean both good and bad. I had the impression that "Hollywood STS," the eye in the triangle that sees everything, could be good. This is in my opinion a way to divide. The second thing, the one that surprised me the most, and I'm surprised that no member has mentioned, is the hint that they make to the flat earth theory. The scene seems explicit when Ra draws energy from the sun and gives the rotation around the flat earth. If I hurt observed, so please apologize for the noise.

That 'whitewashing' Youtube vid was funny and accurate, because they did have a bit on the director saying that he would never get money to make the movie with no name actors.... period, and that's the simple truth, it's really up to the country/nation/race etc to make their own if they want accuracy, but I doubt that that would happen either, because, the local oligarchy is always 'on board' with the control game... be it in Egypt or anywhere, the propaganda marches on... the past is reinterpreted as the present state 'leaders' want it...simple... and in the end, here in the States, it is all about the green, the money, unless the govt propaganda team has requested and funded the project, with no real expectations of profit, just eyeballs is enough to keep the propaganda going... like on Wall Street, the real PTB don't care about silly things like money, that's for their underlings.

Of course Hollywood influences worldwide opinion, and especially here in the dumbed downed States, their fantasy versions of past events will most likely become the accepted version for the laity in the future, same everywhere, as it's always up to the individual to seek out the truth. Don't most people around the world know that Hollywood stuff is nonsense? It's all mostly fantasy anyway, be it in Egypt, India, China, etc.. same as in their own domestic films... unless they are making documentaries, and even then, it becomes a question of who's paying for the project.. same with our politics today... cui bono, no?

Hollywood has become the standard for production values, not storytelling... thus this one: 'Gods of Egypt', which I just saw the trailer the other day, looks like most of Hollywood fare, this one in particular seems to have been inspired by the Brendan Fraser films "The Mummy", don't you think? Just add more special effects, more action, more, more, more of the same distraction, over the top, WOW stuff that we are known for... no body takes any of it seriously, right? This way, no one takes anything in history seriously, and isn't that the PTB's real goal? Makes the job of historical research harder and harder as this stuff muddies up the trail more and more... like trying to keep the sea from washing away our sand castles on the beach.... and isn't this similar to what the C's said about finding any real evidence from the past?

This one looks like a special effects driven project, hasn't that been the case? Thus, it's entertaining, and that is pretty much all Hollywood is after. Historical accuracy? You must be kidding! From Hollywood? From the USofA? From Britain, Zion and the rest of the Jewish controlled industry?

You painted this Maat yourself, SummerLite? The painting reminds me of native Americans a little bit. Looks beautiful. :flowers:

I've also watched Gods of Egypt in 3D a couple of weeks ago. A nice entertainment, imo. I also enjoyed the visual effects and humor too. As for authenticity, sure there was no such thing, but I never expected it from such film category either. So, it fit my expectations pretty well: a lovely and funny fairy tale.

As for Nina Simone/Zoe Saldana, I like and respect them both, so it would be interesting to watch this film too. I don't think that Zoe or some other actress must necessarily look or sing like Nina to make a great play. We'll see.

Leonardo DiCaprio has also recently announced that he is willing to play Vladimir Putin - so much for appearance similarities here! :D
