Gratitude: Today is a Gift.

The Living Force
Stunning time lapse photography with a powerful sentiment.
Today is a gift. It's wise to keep this in mind as we read about all the horror in this world and the suffering of so many people living on the planet who endure lives we can only try to fathom.
There is both good and evil in the world. See everything you can, as it is.

"Nature's beauty can be easily missed — but not through Louie Schwartzberg's lens. His stunning time-lapse photography, accompanied by powerful words from Benedictine monk Brother David Steindl-Rast, serves as a meditation on being grateful for every day. "

Thank you Lisa for this beautiful sharing which rings as an echo when I've got my eyes behind my camera lens. The whole Nature is inspiration. :flowers:

Beautiful and awesome images here, indeed.

What is so sad is that so many people have to turn to TED talks and videos to engage with the beauty and wonder of nature, sort of like a "time-out" from "all the horror in this world". The reality around us is already full of the wonder of nature and life if people would only take the time to dance with the universe.

As the old man says in the video, this day, right now, is already FULL of wonder and all we have to do is open our eyes, look at each person, each thing, with beginner's eyes and mind. Every minute of every day, you have the opportunity to remember yourself: to observe yourself in your experience of life from a cosmic perspective while experiencing it from the personal.

If you remind yourself numerous times throughout your day that in the next instant, you could be taken from this life, it gives everything an all-new meaning. Even the mess on my desk takes on a certain charm...

So true. Thank you for the gift of this video Lisa.
Until the last two or so years, I had no appreciation of the fact that death can come calling at any time, that it didn't really register that the veil separating life and death is thin and tenuous.

Funny how a heart attack and walking away from a truck rollover can change all of that.

I believe Gurdjieff said that we should live our life as if we had only one more hour to live. So appreciate, and live in, the here and now.

Lisa, we are all blessed by your presence: :hug2:

Indeed. And we need to learn to appreciate every little thing around us, even the trials. If I had an hour to live, I would spend it with my extended family just talking and looking at their faces, ... feeling their presence ... memorizing them.

The only thing you can take out of this life is the reciprocation of the love you give to others. Close, honest, loving relationships are the true treasure of life.

Thanks Lisa for the video and thank you all for your comments. It is a good time for me to see this and read your words! :)

Beautiful movie, inspiring.
Sometimes it's hard to allow space to take in the goodness and beauty of life and yet it's always there, generously offered to anyone that takes the time to look and remember.
Thank you Lisa, for putting up that wonderful reminder. :flowers:
