I had a power line that came down in my back yard tonight. Since it was after hours for the utility company I was advised { by my daughter who is fire and rescue} to report it to the police. When the officer was filling out his report I was amazed at the amount of information that he requested from me. Besides the usual name, address and telephone number, he also wanted my height, weight, color of eyes, color of hair, date of birth and social security number. When I asked him why he wanted the additional information he assured me that it was only for there files and would not be shared with anyone else. Of course I don't believe a word of it, I am sure the info will be put into a data base and used as they see fit. It gives me the chills, yuck! Also I was not able to call out on my phone until they allowed it, the message I got when I tried, was that the line was being kept open by the police in case they needed to get in touch with me. I guess this was my wake-up call.
