Help! I'm in a rut!!

I've read "The Wave" and it opened up a whole new way of thinking. It made me want learn more, so that's what I did. For months I read, researched, and read some more. Lately though, I seem to have lost interest in doing "the work". The things I've learned are always there in the back of my mind, but I just can't bring myself to do anymore reading, or meditating. I'm feeling very angsty, scatterbrained, and like something is missing, but I can't put my finger on it. Is it normal to take two steps forward and one step back?

What's your diet like? If you're feeling angst and scatterbrained, it could be due to brain inflammation caused by toxins in your body accumulated over the years through ingesting foods that inflame. Have you read up on the Diet and Health section of the forum?

Sometimes on reading "The Wave" and the truth in general , i am sure it can have one taking two steps forward and then running for the hills. If you have read it in its entirety there is of course more than plenty to digest. It is the only book on this planet that can carry the "This book can and will seriously change your life" status.

Sometimes truth and knowledge can feel like a curse once your exposed to it , though with a little time , more things will fall into place. Take things at your own pace , it is impossible to go faster than you actually can in the moment.

I would strongly suggest that you follow the advice of Heimdallr and check out the health and diet section , I can not overstate how important this is. Due to the period of time we are at right now , this is something that you can do and start now.You will feel a positive difference , or so I think.

Hi Jen1221, Sounds like you have "I cant believe it" shock...This is what happens when the mind sort of shuts down. All kinds of thoughts start popping into your head. Typical STS programming since childhood...Television, radio nonsense reporting, programmed not to help at all, but further confuse you...When you read the wave series, serious doubts about the mind numbing rhetoric being fed by the establishment press start to enter your space....at first it is very hard to comprehend truth from fallacy, but halfway thru the wave series, it is obvious that most of what was taught in the school and religious school systems are subject to intense scrutiny as to the truthfullness of there lessons....The main thing to do is try to relax, do the EE program as taught by Laura, and read as much as possible...You will find great wisdom in the Casseopeon Sessions. Many questions will be answed and facts about life style changes given. Being a Newbie, you will eventually learn how to recognize STS attacks (not wanting you to leave there control). Keep with it, be strong, you will get great advice from the members of this Forum....Best regards Roger

You might be having a little information overload. Sometimes it's good to engage in relaxing, creative activities and take a break from reading for a little while. Give the information time to percolate in your brain for a bit before downloading more.

Like Heimdallr said, take a close look at the diet an health thread to see if there is something in your diet that can account for the scatterbrain feeling. Are there other stressors in your life that need closer examination?

Thank you all so much for the quick replies and suggestions. My diet is typically really good, but I did over do it this past holiday weekend, which could explain the angst. I have read several topics in Diet and Health. In fact, I'm now taking Vitamin C, magnesium, and Lipoic Acid after reading some of the posts. This funk I'm in has been going on since I finished reading The Wave in September. I do not have a stressful life and I even have plenty of free time to do the work.

The Wave was the sort of book I had been looking for for years. I got a little disturbed at times, but mostly felt relief that life long questions were being answered. I sort of feel as if now that I found "the book", what's left?. Now, I know this is not true. I just don't understand how one day I'm so eager to learn and the next day it just shuts off. Nothing is keeping my attention like The Wave did.

Hi jen1221

When you say "generally good" do you mean in the generally accepted sense of most holistic websites, or generally good in the sense of the Diet and Health threads, i.e., no dairy, gluten, sugar, caffeine or alcohol, and nightshades. Dairy and gluten are especially detrimental to mood and thinking.

That being said, Odyssey is right about the information overload. Just about everyone here has their story of loss of energy or pleasure in life, sliding into downright depression (waves hand here) when they first encountered Laura's work. It seems like you do need a break from taking in so much life-altering information, no matter how much you want to learn. Do some fun, real world physical stuff on the days it "just shuts off" and go back on the days you are eager. If you carry on with the EE program, you will definitely be processing and progressing even if you can't tell from day to day. And don't worry that there's nothing beyond the Wave. There's material here to occupy a lifetime!

Everything is lessons and everything is cycles too. Just follow along as your heart leads you. Learning is fun!

After a intense period when I found Laura's work in 2002-2005, I spent two years without touching anything work-related.
I was in a major rut during this period, when I couldnt read anything, or think straight at all. Looking back, it was somewhat due to diet, but also you have to give some room to yourself to grow and digest.
If you can, try to read about other things you always wanted to know about, not necessarily being "serious" stuff.
Go out, move, have a hobby. Dont put pressure on yourself. It will come.
In the meanwhile practice parts of the Eiriu Eolas meditation program!

I'm happy to report that I'm feeling much better. I'm back on track with eating right(as suggested in the diet threads). I am even doing some reading. The new December session with the C's really helped me. There is no way to know if I'm one of the ready ones who's DNA will be affected by the possible Supernova, but It was a message of hope for me, and it has been my motivation to dive back in to doing the work.

I gotta admit I kind of feel the same sometimes after a more or less intense period of researching or going through material or Laura's book. It's as if... well that's why its called the work hey ! It's because its not easy and takes a lot of concentration and energy.

Right after finishing the Second Wave book, I jumped into Fulcanelli Dwelling of Philosphers and stopped after 5 chapters and kind of cannot find the courage to plunge into it again. Is it just a mental state that can be worked through ? A real physical limitation that your are tired ? Diet related issues ? Open ?

Maybe when I receive my EE package it will help with that. Don't know... I understand you though Jen1221.

jen1221, I too have experienced these temporary states several times. In my case I must say that I have feel as a period of assimilation and, at some point, rest. The work consume energy.
After a period of relatively short time, the energy tends to return, although sometimes I had to make an effort to find a way forward.
Nor do I believe it is beneficial to wait a long time to return new desires. In my case, sometimes to get through this laxity that pervaded me, I had to take the initiative to go ahead.
Beyond what the cause, I think it is important to try to stay calm.
