Hi guys. I recently came across this website _http://herve.delboy.perso.sfr.fr while googling for resources on alchemy. The text is in french so I had to use google's translator to read it in english. I didn't know where else I should have put this post (in The Work section perhaps?). It seems like an interesting website (not many references to it on the web) with a large body of resource material on alchemy, astrology, music, statistics, chess and art. I must confess I am still a newbie when it comes to alchemy, but I thought a lot of people might be interested in checking out the website and will be able to make more sense of it than me, so I am just going to post here some introductory paragraphs from the Alchemy section (_http://herve.delboy.perso.sfr.fr/intro_alchimie.htm) of the website:
Hope it finds some use. :)

In the pages that you will see below, we try to give a reasonable interpretation of alchemy based on the study of modern and classical texts. Our journey begins with engravings and emblems alchemy that will help the grantee to s' guide a process of thought rather special, based not on the Cartesian reasoning, but more of a metalogical, and to be adopted in the critical appropriation of old treaties. These engravings give the reader an atmosphere fit for him to see, at least we hope, what is the idea that alchemy provides an introduction to the major sections, they cover the following books and sections: Atalanta fugiens - Philosophia Reformat - Hermetic Triumph - Twelve Keys of Philosophy - Book of the hieroglyphic figures - Book of Abraham - Jewish Mutus Liber - Splendor Solis [Toyson Golden] - De Lapide Philosophorum - Donum Dei - The Ladder of the Sages - Typus Mundi - Vices and Virtues of Notre-Dame de Paris - Zodiac - Alchemical Tarot - Patio-Hermetic recreational spagyric - emblems of the Philosopher Solidonius - Aurora Consurgens - Alchemia [Libavius]
In the same vein we give a section devoted to gradually symbols of Art [ Part I and II ].
But first, and personally, I will present to readers the text of Mr. Philippe Litzler, with whom I collaborated on several occasions in the development of certain sections, not least the wet , and that I could also title: in search of potable gold . I also have a text to Mr. Litzler rare and rich teaching the Book of Crates which I have reason to believe that it is related to so-called Hermetic writings, such as the Emerald Tablet , or the dialogue between Mary and Horus . This is the place to recall here the link almost " tight "that binds me to two friends: Ph. L. and Alain Mauranne with beautiful photographs and reproductions are many, surely, part of the interest of this work free, to users and followers of Hermes.
The secret alchemical
If you are a faithful Alchemy site is that the problem of secret alchemical interests you. You wonder even in the depths of your consciousness, if there really is a secret. I can reassure you that there really is a secret alchemical, with the key to the development of a product "wonderful." But remain cautious. Alchemy was born in Egypt at the time of Ptolemy (although there is also a dispute between the "experts"). But at that time, many "things" that seem completely mundane were supposed to be "wonderful." Among other glass manufacturing. This subject has always fascinated the alchemists. It is therefore interesting to understand its manufacture and its color. With these two research themes we enter the cave already in pre-chemists. Fulcanelli tells us that medieval glassmakers were the knights who were "at work" with the sword on the side. This is perhaps anecdotal, at least you had to be a knight, in the sense of the term, to work the glass. I suggest you to read all the chapters written on the glass & the precious stones. And yes, making artificial gems is an activity that is very close to the glass work. Another tip - important? also study the process of Purple of Cassius (known long before him) and you will find on this site. The Purple of Cassius is not Peter, no, but it looks damn Ferment a Stone to red, even though it has nothing alchemical him. Let's go back to antiquity that saw the birth of Alchemy. The people of those times were convinced it was necessary to purify themselves to survive in the afterlife. Could be purified morally, following the precepts of Socrates and Plato (by philosophical discrimination), participating in the Mysteries (which was less tiring), following the rules of the new religion (Christianity), etc.. Alchemy proposed another way: a purification of the mind through theoretical research in books, or a glorification of God (s) in a fairly complete isolation (the alchemist is so busy with his research that n is more fully of this world) and especially by the absorption of his elixir final purification of the human body like a Christ (light body) or a Fulcanelli that transcends two worlds ( the visible and the other). This was therefore the concerns of elders, the same way that we are interested today in the Internet, paid vacation or retirement after 37 years of contribution! The Philosopher's Stone was not only a product purify themselves: how it is made and actually led the way, the Stone from the material prepared became black, then white and finally red, the color of royalty! In addition, the dead ashes reborn through the provision of Air and Water, as we imagined it could happen at the resurrection of the body. [...] For practical alchemical be understood so much more interest there is to know the preparation of glass and its color, the manufacture of artificial gems and the knowledge of any substance capable of changing to "properties "physical, without bringing the radioactivity in our old philosophy of nature, particularly perennial temptation for those who have misread (and misunderstood) the ancient texts. As for the manufacture of gold it might be useful to recall that the alchemists were talking in metaphors! But alchemy also is there anything other than the name of the material when it turns white. One might as well speak of Magnesia white or white earth. Is it possible to use the common gold in the preparation of the Stone? Yes, of course. Ferment is prepared with lime gold that can be incorporated in the Stone for Stone metal, but this is not the main goal of the alchemist. Is there any possibility of transmutation with this new product? Speaking of transmutation is again the jargon of the alchemists. Rather we would say today permutation! It will also interest in this case to read the preparation of Purple of Cassius and to study the physico-chemical phenomena related to colloidal products. One last point. Those who use stibnite (antimony sulfide) are unaware that they certainly do not work with Antimony alchemists. Stibnite is very interesting for all chemical reactions that allow for an almost complete knowledge of reactions in inorganic chemistry. But the substance itself, other than clean metallic gold or purgative use, does not work at all in the laboratory of the alchemist. I have spoken of laboratory work: work and pray are actually the two pillars of our science. But it would omit one of the most beneficial information as to forget the main tool of our natural philosophers. Indeed, to purify ourselves, our tireless researchers used a method as old as the world they sang, like the monks who use the Gregorian chants (Saint Gregory had probably alchemical knowledge). Today offers another method much easier for those whose body has not been spoiled by nature. Simply listening to music. But beware, as well as Gregorian chants follow certain rules, it should choose his music with great attention: the first Gregorian chants, Monteverdi without measure, baroque music as a whole and a few pieces of Mozart. Just one more word. The preparation of the Philosopher's Stone, with real substance, is extremely dangerous. The lungs, liver etc.. can suffer irreversible damage. So, reading a good old Fulcanelli is equally rewarding, especially with music adapted & [...] do not judge lightly: in these few lines there are more than twenty years of research and work & E-mail me and tell me what you think. Have a good trip. Hermetically yours. Litzler Philippe
Hope it finds some use. :)
