High fat foods stimulate the vagus nerve

I can begin the day with a piece of salami, an egg, a little bit faxseed oil and sometimes an avocado and the hunger is gone for 4 and more hours.

Well Stranger, by the time you're ready to drench 3 buckwheat blinis in goose fat, grill 8 slices of bacon, fry 2 pork and black pepper patties, washed down with green tea and an extra-large RYO cigarette for breakfast, you won't know yourself :D I can basically go the whole day without thinking of food after that.

Same here. I've cut back my blinis to four in the morning - sometimes a couple more, but usually four - and plenty of meat. The rest of the time, I eat mostly meat with just a bit of root veggies or some mashed potato which doesn't seem to bother me. Our favorite meal (me and Ark) is a nice slice of fried ham with a bit of mashed potatoes and some lettuce with avocado and sprouts drenched in olive oil and a nice balsamic vinegar.

I like to cook what left of the mashed potato, from the previous evening, in the blinis plate for breakfast. With sausages, bacon or ham accompanying blinis, they taste great and make crisps potato patties.

After I started eating high fat breakfast, I stopped being hungry until afternoon. Initially I used to wonder how I can survive with out food after 6PM and after couple of days , body adjusted with large sum fat food during the day.

Even if fatty, things like blinis still often have me eating many of them (and mine are made very thick) - unless plenty of meat (typically means pork, bacon seems best) is had at the time. I've generally been increasing the amount of meat I eat - at first, now a number of months ago, there was a limit to how much felt comfortable having in one meal, but that has slowly given way. Less food is needed the more meat is added. Too much meat in a short time will make me tired (ready to sleep), though, so it has to be balanced. Too much carbs, even if fat-drenched, seem to often (not always) make me lack a bit in energy while craving snack after snack.

Amidst tricky balancing, semi-random experimentation and vague conclusions, not sure if I will ever figure out how to make my body work optimally, though - seems very quirky, not fully "happy" any way.

Whoa Kniall, that describe mornings at my house perfectly! A grand start to the day, especially the blinis and bacon.

Pushed for time on Saturday, I changed my usual 'proper breakfast' - similar to above - and had a hemp protein powder berry shake only. By mid morning I was ravenous! Whilst I was still away from home, Sunday was back to normal - berries, bacon, buckwheat flakes and fat. Felt satisfied all day long - although fully stuffed at lunchtime with my mother's cooking. :)
