From what I could see they were attempting to prevent any more negative interactions with the lions. It doesn't look like the attempt to put a honey badger in an enclosure was ever going to work, though. Makes me wonder if the honey badger was going to consider some sort of 'revenge' against the lions.... Lets hope not, I think he was a bit 'out gunned' in that department.... :D
