This movie was shocking to say the least. What happened to the people in Rwanda was horrific.

The movie is about a man who used his influence and connections to save about 1260 people, but even so, the Wikipedia article says that 800,000 others died in about 100 days. And they didn't die quickly either. To make matters worse the world essentially turned a blind eye to it, not unlike what's happening today.

Yup, great movie Mark. The way Don Cheadle stands up to all the opposing forces around him was truly inspiring. Highly recommended for anyone who hasn't seen it.

Hotel Rwanda (2005)

This movie is very good, for me. Maybe because what happened in Rwanda shocked me so strongly. Rwanda made me stopped to see TV, to hear the news. Thanks to Rwanda I had one year of silence and meditation about this terrible world.

Evidently I didn't know at that time exactly what happened there, it took me years to understand how this world is working thanks to the psychopaths and the notion of psychopaths came to me thanks to Laura, many years later. But the horror of Rwanda was the first insight. Even though, what happened there is almost incomprehensible. But all genocides are difficult to understand.

This movie is good because it is one of the few movies that talk about this subject and about one little Africa's country. Who cares about Africa, anyway? Very few are aware that Africa exists.
