How much weight did you lose after starting the low carb diet?

I started gluten free diet about 1.5 year ago.Did it becouse it seems a right thing to do.
But then in the midst of learning of subject some nasty things hapend and I lost over 10 kg (losted apetite).
To precise I am 188 cm tall and I had 93 kg but I also had pronounced abdominal muscles, just to take as a marker.Lately I manged to solve current dificultes and I started to do some reaserches about diet now with intention to increas my energy.I am now on 0 carbs for three weeks, and I feel great, but I losted 4kg more .Now I am looking the way to increas my weight on about 85kg.If somebody have ideas I would be grateful .

At my heaviest (2003/04) I almost hit 300lbs. Probably about 290. Since going through the elimination diet, an experiment with vegitarianism (thanks to d'Adamo :P), and then going gluten free with relapses here and there, now I am averaging about 215, which I believe is my target weight.

It's interesting that starting the resistance training, I've put on an additional 10lbs of muscle.

That seems to be happening to me too. I was down to 165 lbs at one point, but with the resistance exercise I'm creeping back up over 170. Interestingly, people keep asking me if I'm losing more weight. Nope, gaining :D

Went from app. 180 lbs to app. 170 lbs (-10 lbs). Height is app. 5'10". Lost the little belly but I think a bit of muscle as well (I have a naturally 'strong' shape though).

I'll mostly begin resistance training soon if I can fit in on my schedule. I've always been the kind or person that gain strenght and muscle at a great rate without taking any supplements (only more food to compensate).

At least this is a good motivation. Last time I worked out (about 2 years ago) I've done it only for a month and couldn't beleive how fit and strong I became (all naturally). I was doing mostly resistence training as a matter of fact.

So I may start again soon. I think I have free access to my school's gym which would be perfect. And I can't wait to see the diffrence with a better diet!

Peace.

Feeling awesome. Only lost about 5-7kg I suppose in 3 months of being serious but only weighed about 65-68kg to begin with. Dropped dramatically since reading Primal Body Primal Mind and increasing my fat intake so much so that many people comment on how good I look but don't believe me when I tell them I eat a lot of fat. Initially hovered around 3-5kg dropped.
More than the weight I just feel so much better!

I started the Paleo Diet about 1 1/2 years ago. First aliminating gluten, sugar, almost all dairy(I like to have organic heavy cream in some hot teas and pastured butter). The first 6 months on the diet I lost about 20 lbs.

In Feb. of this year, my son, Shane moved home. I got more serious about the diet. I aliminated beans and most veggies except veggies with very low carbs and cut out all grains.

We`ve been adding more fat to our diet and bone broth and a little protein everyday. I`m amazed at how great I feel. The inflammation I used to feel from old injuries is gone! No pain. I get out of bed in the morning and I am ready for a full day!. I`ve lost 55lbs to date.

I now weigh in at 58 kg - from 75 kg about a year ago. I have lost the belly I used to have and am super trim. Battling to cut out sugar in my tea, but I'll get there. At 55 I feel really good. :)

I lost 36 Kg or 75 lbs, but that was after my first gastric bypass ( my second one I lost 24 more lbs). Note that the diet of a GP patient is a no carb diet, the idea a cutting up your digestive system was just getting you to have a food aversion in your head, because eating causes quit a bit of pain for a while. So it forces you to eat different like eating no carbs and sugars.
The size of the stomach no longer matters since digestion now takes place in the small intestines, so I can still eat a 16 oz steak (and no, my "pouch" is not stretched out as in common myths).
I still find out that when I go to a low carb diet, I loose tremendous amounts of weight (20 lbs in 2 weeks at start), but when I start adding any carbs that amount goes way down. Even before my GP surgery, I was able to loose this weight on a low carb diet, but you think the medical industry would admit this????

I drink tea and I use stevia to sweeten it. It has been a good alternative for me instead of sugar. It is zero-calorie, zero-carb, zero-glycemic index, and a natural sweetener. It is extremely sweet and you only need a very very little bit. I am using it to transition as I would like to change my taste for sweet and really taste the natural state of the herbs in the teas I drink.

Thanks Blueberry :). I bought some Stevia and will see how the transition from sugar to stevia goes, starting now.

I would like to start also by saying that the weight-loss is just a 'side-effect' of the KD/healthy eating for weight-loss is not necessarily an indicator of a healthy diet. I see many vegetarians and vegans every day at work who are in fact skinny but faaar from healthy obviously, their bodies probably have used up all the fat in their bodies as a countermeasure of not getting little or no food of any nutritional value, contrary to people on the KD, who shed weight because their bodies don't 'need' to store it because they get all the nutrition they need, osit.

I was fat most of my life, no surprise as up until about 4 years ago, I've mostly consumed junk foods. I was 215/220 pounds (97.5-99.7 kilograms) at the highest point and shed about 30 pounds (13.5 kilos) when I cut out gluten, wheat, flour, etc. 3 years ago. Then going low carb and a few months later, cutting out carbs almost entirely, I've lost another 40-45 pounds. I am now at around 140 lbs. (63.5 kilos) and I am pretty stable, fwiw.

I feel great, clarity of mind and body has never been so apparent and it's just increasing as I've recently cut out ALL dairy (100% heavy cream, butter, etc had to be cut out of my diet, thanks to Anart and Puck for pointing that out for me). I have only been off of them for 6 days but I have never felt better. Ever, in my life.

I'm contemplating on posting my before and after pictures but I would feel better if they were 'anonymized'. Maybe if I block out my eyes? That way I wouldn't have to bother a mod with anonymizing them.

Well, I tried to do that but I realized that would kind of defeat the purpose as this is the only photo I have of that period that really shows how big I was - except for one more but that's from the same night - and it's more of a medium shot so my body's not very visible (I tried to hide it as well as I could for years). And I don't really have the software to do it with. So here they are, raw.

First 'before' shot were taken in the fall of 2009, I think I was about 215 lbs in this one.

2nd is the 'after' image, taken this spring if my memory serves me well while ziplining. Probably 150-something lbs. (not sure)
