i recently read this rather informative book, full title:

Howard W. Armbruster - Treason's Peace - German Dyes and American Dupes - I.G. Farben's Hidden Power in America

it deals with the influence that the german giant IG Farben had in the US from pre-WWI until immediately after WWII.

the author seems to have been involved directly in the proceedings (he gave testimony at various senate hearings on the matter).

very interesting stuff, sheds some light on the background of the pharmaceutical industry and where it all originated (coal tar dyes) as well as the US government's apparent unwillingness to do much of anything about IG Farben's influence in the US before, during and after WWII.
