This last Spring, I noticed several incidences of car's plowing into homes in our local news coverage. Within a three week period, four "accidents" were reported - of going off the road and hitting the front or side of a house. It's something that is rarely reported.

The accidents happened between 8PM and just after midnight. None of the drivers were reported as "under the influence of drugs or alcohol." All walked away with minor injuries.

In one report, the 50 year old male driver stated, he was on his way home from work when it seemed his "car shut off" and he had no control of the breaks and veered off the country road, into someone's front porch. No indication, if the other three accidents experianced a simular fate?

At the time, I thought it might involve some "high strangeness" but never ventured any deeper into it, for there were no other reports.

Then on Sunday, September 30th, a car ran into a business and the female driver walked away from the scene. She was later located and taken for blood tests.

On Oct. 6th, another car ran into a business in Luzeren County (still our general area).

Then, on October 10th, around 8 PM Tuesday night, a private helicopter crashed with 3 passengers. Two died - while one survived.

According to the brief article, "the chopper’s own emergency locator failed, which caused the delay in getting to the crash site" (some 5-6 hours later.) The survivors "cell phone signal eventually led emergency crews to the downed chopper."

It was later reported in the paper, the plane died in mid-air, losing instrumentation and jamming communication.

Also, that same Tuesday night (Oct. 10th), 2 separate car crashes - within miles of one another - crashing into buildings with both drivers. fleeing the scene of the accident. The Heliocopter crash near Route 380 in the Pocono's, is only 20-25 minutes driving time away from these two locations.

October 22nd, On Friday night, two pickup trucks crashed into the house on Walnut Street in Penns Creek.

The red GMC hit the corner of the house. The Dodge 1500 went through the house. It really damaged the corner,” Robert Petty said.

State police say the driver of one of the vehicles went through a stop sign and collided with another pickup. Both trucks smashed into the house. Despite the damage, the family is still able to live there, but must wait for an insurance adjuster before repairs can begin.

October 23rd, TOWANDA TOWNSHIP — Crews spent Tuesday afternoon cleaning up debris after a pick-up truck ran into a home in Bradford County.

Officials said the truck drove off the road and crashed into a house on Route 220 in Towanda Township around 1:00 p.m.

So it seems, another cycle has begun?

Sept. 30 - a car drives into a business
Oct. 6 - a car drives into a business
Oct. 10 - private helicopter crash
Oct. 10 - 2 separate car accidents - within miles of one another - crashing into homes
Oct. 22 - 2 pick up trucks smash into the same home
Oct. 23 - a pick up truck crashes into home

Who knows? It got your notice, so gathering the data and paying attention seems like a great response. Might be interesting to see if you can find statistical data on what 'normal' is for accidents of this sort in your area.

I have lived in this general area for over 50 years. It's rare to read multible reports of vehicles slamming into homes and business when road conditions are clear. Of course, there are exceptions, like heavy down pours that create conditions for hydroplaining or when Winter approaches and weather turns icy with accumulations of snow.

What I'm noticing, is spurts of vehicles crashing into buildings, within a 30 - 45 day time span, with months inbetween with no reports. In some instances, reports of vehicles "suddenly losing power" and in the case of the Helicopter crash mentioned in the list, losing power, instrumentation and communications (even the emergency locator failed) right after airport take off. Two days prior to this Helicopter incident, another private Helicopter crashed in a neighboring State (as the crow flys to Newark, NJ ) only minutes after take off. Several eye witnesses reported, "it just dropped out of the sky." But I didn't include it with the list, for NJ is out of my general area in Pennsylvania but a good hours drive away.

This morning. another vehicle has crashed into a house, although I could list it "as circumstance and human error."

SCRANTON — A Scranton police cruiser crashed into a building when the driver swerved to avoid another vehicle, according to officers.

It happened around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of Mulberry Street.

Scranton police said a car pulled out of Buenzli Court, forcing the police cruiser to swerve to avoid it and causing it to slide into the building.

No one was hurt.

Officers said they are still investigating the crash.

The building will be inspected to determine if there is structural damage.

Although, the Police cruiser accident is an exception, in light of the other's listed as losing power or dropping out of the air, I wonder if something is interfering with electrical/electronic systems such as electro-magnetism or solar flares? Could there be a connection to the recent meteorite and fireball activity?

I would be interested, if anyone else has noticed a spike of these kind of accidents in their local news reports?
