Hurricane Matthew

Your attitude and foresight to prepare is commendable.

Yeah, glad you're ok. And that was a nice example of expecting attack.

Agreed. You're the perfect example for how utilizing knowledge can mean the difference between surviving or not.

Thanks for your good wishes.

Pretty shocking how many people do not even have a candle on hand. I was able to share with the people on my block. Lady across the street has 7 children, and is totally unprepared for any kind of trouble, kids scared of the dark, etc. We made a date for a lesson on how/why to food. Turns out she and family have some bad food additive sensitivities. Yay! (about teaching a useful skill, I mean)

I am more inclined than ever to get off the grid. I'm rethinking my plan for an underground bomb/fallout shelter, though. An earth-arched, above ground shelter will be a better choice at this elevation (100 ft).

Hurricane Matthew has resulted in 19 confirmed deaths in North Carolina alone, as flooding waters continue to rise in many communities.

US Death Toll Climbs To More Than 35 After Hurricane Matthew Amid Massive Floods (Video)

On Wednesday, Governor Pat McCrory confirmed the storm-related deaths, and warned residents that have refused to leave evacuated areas to flee quickly.

“Too many people have died, and we don’t want anymore to die. Yet there are going to be conditions during the next 72 hours which will be extremely dangerous,” McCrory said.

The governor warned against people attempting to drive through high water, as it has been the cause of many of the deaths. He also asserted that many people remain unaccounted for.

The latest confirmed deaths were mostly the result of drowning, though one man was killed when a tree fell on his car in Wake County, and another died after being shot by a North Carolina Highway Patrol officer and two deputies “during the high water situation.”

“All we know is there was a confrontation and a shooting that has resulted in a man’s death in very, very difficult circumstances,” the governor said. Currently, over 77,000 Duke Energy customers remain without power in the state, and a federal disaster declaration has been received for 31 counties.

In South Carolina, the situation also remains dire, as officials have announced they expect many roads and bridges to be covered by the flood water.

It still isn't over for some of us either. My family got lucky. Out property sits at a bit higher elevation so no flooding but I am right next to the Neuse River. It hasn't even crested yet. Still evacuations and roads closed. Power is on and off. Internet service is also spotty.

The weirdest thing I saw this week though....we made one trip to the store for supplies. The only store we could get to was a Walmart...yuck. people were shopping for video games and buying up toys. In the food aisles...we had no problem finding organic and non-GMO pantry goods. NO ONE HAD BOUGHT THEM ANY OF THE HEALTHY FOOD UP. It was fully stocked. You know what was decimated? Supplies of soda, chef boyardee cans, energy drinks, cookies, chips, utter nonsense and junk. We saw multiple people wandering around with giant cases of ramen soup and fistfuls of candy bars. These people scare me.

Here's the Neuse River in Kinston NC at a bridge three days ago. I just heard that bridge is now under water.

Wow, that is one scary monster. It wouldn't look out of place in a horror film. Many years ago I had a book called Simulacra which showed examples of human looking features in nature such as faces in flowers and animals etc.

I often think of the C's comments from 1994 when I read about strange, awful and often bizarre weather conditions over the world. I think they said eventually the battles would become visible in our density level. Definitely not looking forward to that one.

Yeah. Especially when you consider the nature of 4D beings. So I guess seeing things like this storm image along with a host of other weird weather actions is pretty much like encounters with 4D.

Apologies if this was already posted elsewhere: I saw this picture on Twitter (see attachment) and it kind of reminded me of the monster image of hurricane Matthew.

Not as 'clear' as the Matthew one, but still interesting perhaps. FWIW.

By the way, just read your post Rennie564, I'm glad to hear your family got lucky, and hope you all made it ok!

It's always really piqued my interest when the C's said that 4D battles were disguised as weather.

Session 30 July 1994
Quote
A: It has already started. Will intensify steadily.
Q: (L) Why are we not aware that it has already started?
A: Disguised at this point as weather. Fighting part still in other dimension. Will go to this one within 18 years. Anytime within this period. Not determinable exactly when. Could be tomorrow or 18 years.
Q: (L) 18 years from now is 2012. Is there some special significance to that time?
A: By then

Compared with this latest hurricane as being described as "having a mind of its own"

Unusual Atlantic storm: Matthew may hit US as Category 5 Hurricane next week -- Sott.net

I wish I was able to form a more complete image of what the C's meant, but it's been interesting at the very least to witness the rising intensity of storms over the past several years, some of which hit my own backyard.

Here's to hoping for the "best," and staying open to, well staying open!

US Hurricane Center: Subtropical Storm Alberto May Cause Tornadoes (VIDEO)

Recreational US boaters, who plan to set sail during the three-day Memorial Day weekend, are being urged stay on dry land, as gale-force winds from a dangerous subtropical storm threaten the Gulf of Mexico region, US Coast Guard said.

"Typically, there is an increase of boaters on the water during the holiday weekend, however, due to the impeding storm the Coast Guard urges boaters to take precautions for their personal safety," the Coast Guard stated in a press release on Friday. "Rescue and assistance by the Coast Guard and other agencies may be degraded as the storm approaches. Boaters are urged to secure their vessels and emergency-position-indicating radio beacons."

8pm Intermediate Adv. Subtropical Storm Alberto winds remain at 40 mph. With all the active rain and wind displaced east of the center, the Flood Watch continues for the weekend.
8:16 PM - May 25, 2018

The release explained that storms often blow unsecured beacons overboard, even when boats are tied up in port, creating false emergency signals.

Meanwhile, the US National Hurricane Center said that Tropical storm dubbed Alberto was heading toward the US coast in Florida over the northwestern Caribbean Sea.

"Heavy rainfall expected to affect the Yucatan Peninsula…Western Cuba…Florida…and the northeastern Gulf Coast through the weekend," the latest public advisory read.

Alberto is the first named storm of the 2018 hurricane season, which officially begins in June.

It formed in the Gulf of Mexico on Friday and threatens to batter the northern Gulf of Mexico coast with heavy rains and storm surge. The storm, packing maximum winds of 40 miles per hour, is currently located 108 miles southeast of Mexico’s Cozumel island and creeping north at 5 miles per hour. It is expected to speed up on Saturday through Sunday.

A tornado or two may occur over the Florida Keys and parts of southern and southwestern Florida beginning Saturday evening, the NHC said.

Last year was the worst hurricane season in recent memory, with monster storms Harvey, Irma and Maria flooding parts of Texas and wiping out electric power in the US territory of Puerto Rico and nearby islands.

US Mississippi, Florida Declare Emergency Over Subtropical Storm Alberto

The US states of Mississippi and Florida declared the state of emergency over the approaching subtropical storm of Alberto, the states’ governors said.

“This morning, I have declared a state of emergency across FL to ensure our state has the resources they need to keep their families safe and prepare for the torrential rain and severe flooding Subtropical Storm Alberto will bring,” Florida Governor Rick Scott wrote on his Twitter page.

The same decision was made by Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant.

Three governors have declared states of emergency for parts of their states ahead of #Alberto. This will free up resources like the national guard.

“With subtropical storm Alberto headed toward the Coast, we are preparing to respond. This morning, I signed a proclamation declaring a state of emergency and an order making the National Guard and other state resources available should they become necessary,” Bryant wrote on his Twitter page.
