I think I am under psychic attack

Timey

Jedi Master
Whenever I am in the house I experience a constant high pitch ringing which feels almost as if it is in my head.
This has been going on for about three weeks now but is starting to get worse. It is extremely off putting and sometimes causes a slight headache but it is irritating more than anything.
If I go out to see a friend or go for a walk or something it goes away, it only seems to be when I am in the house; it increases in intensity when I am trying to get to sleep, not only this but also it seems as if there are two sounds, the high pitch ringing and a strange warbaling sound which changes from a higher pitch to a lower pitch and back again. This is when it becomes unbearable. To give you an idea of how it makes me feel I felt like renouncing The Work last night just to make it stop and get some sleep.
I do not think it is the television as I know they emit high pitch sounds;I have unplugged it. I have also tried switching off all electronics in my room and I still hear/feel it.

Didn't the C's mention that implants make that noise when they are monitoring you? I have heard it before too... It could however be your ears ringing. Which is also relativly normal when the have been subjected to loud noise etc.

It sounds like you might be sensitive to EM radiation. Is there a new cell tower nearby or a neighbor with a strong wifi? Do you have wifi? Considering the audio component, I'd rule out all EM sources first, before assuming it's a psychic attack. If your place is clean, it could be a neighbor.

It may be worth ruling out obvious things first....are there any electrical items turned on/plugged in (lights, airconditioning, TV, computer, laptop power supplies, clocks, cooker, fridge etc)
Does the sound follow you from room to room, or is it localised? Does it change as you tilt/rotate your head (is it orientated to the room)? Does it change if you open windows/doors? Does it change if your standing/sitting/laying down? Does it change if you stick your fingers in your ears? Does it change if you yawn/have a drink of water/pipe breathe?

Those may or may not help you track down the source.
As to stopping it....do you have a fan/ceiling fan? I take it a blanket/pillow over your head at night doesn't work?

Hope you can resolve it!

Hi Timey,

It sounds like Tinnitus, have you listened to much loud music in your life?, or exposed to loud noise at work etc?

Thats what I was getting at. but he said its only when he gets home. but with that i suppose you only really hear that when everything else goes quiet, like inside your home.....

Timey,

Can you find out if you hear this anywhere else when your world is quiet?

Timey, I have a similar situation (except for the warbling sound) and I know I'm sensitive to EM radiation -- and every once-and-awhile, the ringing actually changes in intensity depending on which way my head is facing(!). I live closer than I'd like to some high-voltage power lines, and I know my neighbor has strong wi-fi. And although I don't drink anymore, when I used to it would make it worse -- especially at night when I went to bed. Don't know if that's helpful or not, but EM might be a plausible explanation.

Hi Chaps. I do sometimes listen to my music a bit too loud but nothing ridiculous. I have got some new headphones, maybe I should see if listening to my music quieter makes a difference. I have heard this ringing before but, based on what the C's said, I would say in my head "I can hear you" and it would stop.

Hi Anart. I did notice that there is a new cell tower near by, quite near my house in fact, at least I think it is new because I have never noticed it before. Maybe this tower is the cause? I do not notice any noise when I pass it though. My internet router does have wifi capabilities but I turn it off at night and it has never caused me grief before. I don't know if my neighbors have wifi.

Hi Redfox. As I mentioned in my original post I have tried turning off all electronics in my room at the source, including my mobile phone, and the ringing still persists. I have not, however, tried turning off other electronics in the house other than the television, I will try this. And yes, I seems as if the sound follows me from room to room, even out into my garden, but sometimes it seems to be more intense in my room. This could just be me though. Tilting my head does not seem effect the sound, neither does sticking my fingers in my ears, drinking or doing basic pipe breaths (I will see if EE meditation effects it). And when I am lying down, at least to sleep, it gets more intense. I have not tried putting a pillow over my head, I will try this tonight and will let you know if it works.

Hi Hallowed.I do sometimes listen to my music a bit too loud, but nothing crazy. I was at a music festival a month or so ago but I was never too close to the speakers and I didn't notice any ringing once I was home. I am still in education so I am not exposed to loud noises, although, there are wifi routers in each room.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I will try them all out and let you guys know if they work. I will be sure to listen to my music quieter.
Tinnitus/EM radiation seems like a more plausible explanation, but I have never experienced tinnitus before (maybe I have been over zealous with my new headphones). And this ringing does sometimes cause mild headaches.
I feel that I must add that the reason I thought it might be psychic attack. Other than the fact that it is making me lose sleep, it first happened when I was reading the The Fourth Way in bed, I was at a bit that really spoke to me and then this ringing starts and I suddenly could not concentrate on it and had to stop reading.
But that might have just been a coincidence.
Cheers guys ;D

Hi Path, missed you out in my reply :P
When I drink and go to bed I will hear a ringing as well, but it seems different to this one, more intense. (maybe an effect of the alcohol?
EM is beginning to sound more plausible. It just I have never experienced a constant ringing before.

One other possibility may be high blood pressure....although this is usually more of a 'hiss' than a ringing sound.
Tinnitus or blanket EM radiation seems the most likely causes.

Timey,

I think if you do a bit of research you will learn how loud headphones can actually be. and how damaging. 50% or half volume on an iPod can even be detremental if listened too over a long period (Or so I've read). Food for thought..

Hmm. Funny that i just started in the last week to notice this, as well. I do have wifi where i am staying. I had not thought of em radiation.

Since it only happens when you are at home, I'm inclined to think it is EM radiation -especially since a cell phone tower just went up nearby! I'm fairly sensitive to EM radiation myself and I think I'd have to move if they put a tower up close to me. You may also want to check if your "smart meter" for utilities is close to your bedroom. That can be a source of EM pollution as well.

If moving is not an option, you may think about putting up a silk mosquito net around your bed. That will at least help repel the waves and allow you to sleep. I found this one here - http://www.mosquitonets.com/p/103491/mosquito-net-bed-canopy-silk-newage.htmlthe - that I've been meaning to order. Bummer - when I first found this, it was $250. See the price has gone up to $336. But still a good deal for the benefit it will provide.

For awhile, I was hearing all sorts of noises in my head - electronic hissing sounds, whorling noises (I called it the propellor), static, ringing. If you search the forum for ringing ears, you'll find a few threads on this topic. Good luck - hope you find a solution.

added: I see you are in the UK, Timey. The link I posted is from the US, so maybe you'll have luck finding a net on the other side of the pond.

If it's EM radiation, try a silk blanket/head covering as the Cs suggested in some transcripts. As I recall, it creates a faraday cage that blocks EM radiation from entering your body. That would be a fun experiment :)
