If aliens ever appear in your bedroom…

I was searching for an appropriate thread to post this but couldn’t identify one. Thought it was interesting to share.
Just saw this post on social media:
After 25 years studying abductions, researcher Gary Bates says one name terrifies extraterrestrials

Gary Bates, who has investigated hundreds of alleged alien abduction cases, found a striking pattern: when people call on the name of Jesus Christ, many abductions stop immediately. Bates’ conclusion is backed up by MUFON investigators Joe Jordan and Wes Clark. In more than 400 cases in Florida, they documented that invoking Jesus’ name ended encounters once it was spoken.

This discovery raises profound questions: if these beings are advanced extraterrestrials, why would a spiritual name hold such power? Bates suggests it points to something beyond pure science, perhaps a spiritual dimension to UFO phenomena.

Historically, this isn’t new. Professor Diana Pasulka uncovered similar stories in ancient Catholic records: glowing orbs entering convents, small beings appearing, and encounters ended through prayer. These events echo modern abduction narratives, hinting at a deep, persistent spiritual mystery.

Some in the UFO community dismiss these findings as irrelevant, but Bates argues they challenge our assumptions about extraterrestrial intelligence. Whether you believe in aliens, faith, or both, our understanding of the unknown may require more than just science; it might need spirituality too.

Q: (V) When I called on the hand of God [during an abduction], did that help?

A: No.
Appeal to spiritual personages (#8) apparently works for some but not others (e.g. Wilkinson, mentioned above). Lovelace, for instance, appealed to St. Mary and St. Michael as a child, unsuccessfully. Druffel says that in the cases where it works, “strong faith” is required.

Q: (Scottie) I recently read Hostage to the Devilby Malachi Martin. I posted on the forum about it. A short discussion ensued, and several people asked basically what’s the deal with Catholic priests doing an exorcism and they invoke Jesus, blah blah blah. So, many of us were wondering how that works. We kind of know that the story that Catholics believe about Jesus is not exactly true. It’s a lie. So, I’m having a hard time reconciling this whole “invoking Christ” thing with the fact that entities seem to get in the door when you’re lying to yourself about something. So, that’s how they get in, but then a Catholic exorcist is technically believing a lie if they’re invoking the name of Jesus, and the entities are pretty smart, right? So… (Perceval) Why would it be effective?

A: Intent combined with being and willingness to do good can often produce effects even when knowledge is absent.

Knowledge protects.
And when seemingly absent, apart from what Mari posted above, in the context of abductions the intent can also be the firm basis for mental blocking, in the sense of reverberating with the whole being a sound, clear and strong, unshakable NO.

Laura discussed the invocation of Jesus name and if it works in last interview with Jay, part 12, while similar subjects and themes were also mentioned in previous parts of that series as well.
