Illnesses in 2015

People in my family and a lot of people in my class at college have been ill at least once and even more times this year. I stupidly thought that I would not get ill this time because of my diet so I was not cautious around those who were. Turns out even I came down with a nasty cold

Perhaps this is just the beginning of a period of mass illness and death and we will generally see an increase in other illnesses such as ebola etc. If the state of the world becomes worse it seems only natural for the state of our health to decline also.

I have been sick with a strange flu that lasted 3 weeks (in january) and just when I felt somehow better I had an ear inflammation.
I haven't had an ear inflammation since I was little.
That meant that I was sick for a whole month!
And I heard from people around me , they had all kind of different symptoms of flu and were sick for a longer time than normal.
Very strange indeed

Have been noticing the same pattern here. Lots of people falling for flu-like illnesses that tend to linger significantly more than usual.

Personally i haven't been ill but i do feel sort of feeble at times, like with a very mild flu, and also suffer vertigo from time to time (both unusual for me). These symptoms seem to intensify when i'm not doing any physical activity. Vitamin C does help.

I had the flu then 2 months of pneumonia like symptoms from mid November to mid January. My wife had the same as well. Coughing day and night bringing up chesty phlegm you can't quite spit out.
Neither of us like going to the doctors, so we just hung on and rode it through and it cleared up on it's own.
As for taking meds, I'm 64 next month and I only take tablets for Hypothyroidism. After years of not going to the doctors I got a letter asking if I wanted a check-up, I thought why not I'm not getting any younger. So after the check-up the doctor said I was ok apart from the thyroid. So I'm sort of pleased I haven't anything more serious at the moment.

The flu in my region was very bad. In January, it nearly collapsed the medical system. No beds, not enough staff... Now there was even a shortage of basic medicines for a period of time. Thankfully, it eased up. Still, there are people diagnosed with the flu to this very day.

I am seeing more illnesses at all ages. Typically, young adults and children are very sick. They get diagnosed with diseases that typically belonged to old people before. Some have even zero risk factors and family history for that disease. Grandparents actually fair better, probably because of better epigenetics. If it was not for all the drugs they take, they would have a better life.

same story here. After a few days of runny nose and a bit of fever in late January, I got badly hit by this flu. Twice it seemed to get slightly better for a day or two, then BAM again. I am still fighting it to date, with Vit C and lots of sleep.
My main symptoms are extreme tiredness, muscle ache and some brain fog. Had an otitis in-between, too.
About half the people in my village are suffering from some variation of the same.
I would like to have them compile a questionnaire -- if I only had the energy :bacon:

Last Friday to Monday, March 16 there was a major Pacific Northwest rainstorm (for 3 days straight) with high, cold winds, etc. As a result of being out in it too much, feet and clothes getting wet even with an umbrella, the 'perma-flu' of the past few weeks either rebooted itself to high fever, mutated, or this is just something new on top of it.
