Images Failing in IE

IE is used exclusively where I work. Why is it that there are so many of those annoying X's in boxes instead of images? These rarely - if ever - show up on Firefox at home.

For example now all the "new" labels for some reason are doing this.

Is there a browser setting causing this?

Programming for every browser will make you old before your time.

By no means am I a webmaster, but I do dabble in stateless programming. I'm an old dinosaur green screener when computers had punch cards and cool register lights. Disk drives were the size of washing machines and those old 64 meg removable Winchester disk platters used to whir and spin and also wobbled like a washer.

What works for one browser may not work for another. For example, there is this jQuery site:
_http://jqueryui.com/about
jQuery UI is an open source library of interface components

There's some really cool stuff there, but some have browser incompatibilities.

I know this doesn't really answer your question Jerry. I bet someone here can help with your settings, if indeed that's what it is...

edit: Spelling again.

I have exactly the same problem at work and the reason is that some websites are blocked by my work's company.

By the way, I managed to use Firefox at work and I still have the same problem with the X's.

At work we have a blocker that blocks specific web sites. If a picture comes from a defined web site to be blocked, it is blocks the picture from your browser and you see
those annoying X's in boxes instead of images

That X tells me it is blocked, osit...

Oh yeah, Firefox has an addon called Adblock Plus. And Firefox has pop-up blocking stuff too. Check your Firefox TOOLS then ADD-ONS to see what you have loaded...

Those little images (like for "NEW") were broken.

But they're fixed now. Just do a Shift-Refresh and they should show up again.
