Important Threads: What's on your mind

For some reason, I was denied access to:
LINK: "World's Saddest Internet Argument Techniques"
http://cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php?topic=19438.0

"The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you."

Is there something amiss?

Hi dant,

I copied your clicking and got the same result. Usually, when this message appears someone has merged the original thread with a different one while changing the title of it. The search function didn't yield anything, so I guess this would be the case here. Only the person who actually did the merging will know where this thread hangs out now. Sorry to be of no real assistance...

Good catch, Psalehesost! You succeeded where I failed - care to express your search terms so that I can learn the art of searching a bit more?

Now, the mods would have to change the link in the sticky thread and we're done.

I just pasted Saddest Internet Argument Techniques into the search box and searched the whole forum.

Thanks for explaining. Funny though, that's exactly what I was doing as far as I remember, but got no results at all. So I must have overlooked something unwittingly.

The issue might have been where the search location was set. The search thingamajig is automatically set so that when you do a search, its default is to search the location where you're searching from. So, if you are reading a thread, its default is to search 'this topic'; if your on the forum home page then it's set to search 'entire forum'. Make sure the drop down location is where you want to search.

Thanks for expanding on this, Shane. Usually I open a new window to do any search and I noticed this 'glitch' every once in a while without giving due consideration as to what might have caused it - but now I know what to look out for henceforth. Lesson learned. Thanks again.
