The current situation overall in Mexico is not the best, corruption is going on and on, homicides, police and military taking advantage of their state of power to violate human rights. Now last week there was a protest going on against the increasing number of femicides in Mexico, (and also going on in other parts of Latin America) several states of the country are now in alert of violence of gender, but this doesn't seem to be doing anything to stop them.. Yesterday before sleeping I went through the news and found out another case, of the body of a woman in a bag that was found in Estado de México, (State of Mexico).
It seems like every week girls and woman are disappearing.. not to mention that what went on in Ciudad Juarez 23 years ago, has still no answers from the authorities. But this circumstances seem to go on and off, like some periods you don't hear anything about it, and then boom, lots of news about this. I was thinking about the cause of this events, maybe narcos? and besides the corruption and impunity going on I can't think of anything more, this is something really weird that's going on and very scary :(
Below is a documentary made by Vice last year on the situation, I know Vice may not be the best source, but they did a good job with this
(for some reason I can't post the embed, but here is the url of the site): https://news.vice.com/video/the-murdered-women-of-the-state-of-mexico-part-1
Edit: spelling mistake
