Interesting experiment on group conformity

Makes it clear just how important putting a different perspective out there really is

And social proof, too. How many millions of people are agreeing with stuff they know is false because they fear criticism and rejection?

Reminds me of an old story of a cheating husband's response when caught by his wife:

"Who are you gonna believe? Me, or your lying eyes?"

What I found interesting is that when unanimity is breached, that is one of the 5 actors says the truth then the experiment's subject is more likely to acknowledge the truth too.

There might be some analogy here. If some sources, like SOTT for example, say truths about events happening around the world then it might breach the lie unanimity amongst medias and help people to stand for the truth they see and didn't dare acknowledging because of conformity/social pressure.

That's a kind of butterfly effect: when all sources lie, if only a small fraction of those sources stop lying it might change what a good share of people acknowledge and say.

Exactamundo! But the hard part is reaching the people that need the social proof! That's why the PTB put so much effort into controlling the airwaves. What we need is some kind of big exclusive that puts Sott on the first page of every online website, and ideally the print media too!

Or would that get us in really hot water? Only one way to find out I suppose! Now where did I put that big exclusive?...

I remember learning about and watching both of these things when I was taking a social psychology class a few years ago. We redid these and similar experiments and got similar results still. That class was one that really got me thinking about the way people conform to things they don't agree with or "know" isn't right, but fear social rejection in going against the grain.

Very interesting. Thanks for bringing these back to my attention.

Indeed, and thank you for those links. I was actually looking for that one. All these experiments are also good for demonstrating the conscious example of what goes on unconsciously as a result of very early training (denying the objective reality in order to 'see' what someone else says is there).

Another group experiment.

It show's also how if just one person in a group agrees with the other against the group, they may not follow the group mind.

Probably a good method to break up group thinking by co-intelpro spreading disinformation while penetrating various groups.

In fact, it is a redone of an experiment and the results are even worse than the first time in 1960. How scary t is !!!

That was a good experiment and one that I was not familiar with. I have been in attendance at many public meetings. This could explain why some politicians flip flop and vote they way they do.
