Obviously a fake. Apple would not use duct tape. They would use environmentally friendly, biodegradable clear tape.

Thank you Bo for that one! ;D

My first thought, when reading the topic title was: there isn't a great difference between Ipad and Iphone. ;)

I think that 40,000 BC old stone is more useful and will go very well on eBay.

Your comment made me think of how funny Steve Jobs would look if he were put in a Moses costume and was coming down the mountain with two huge ipads.

:D

That would definitely fit in with one quarter missing in the apple... 

Searching for information about the radiation emission levels of the iPad I came across this:

_http://www.ozcarguide.com/technology/pc-notebook/2951-ipad-3g-radiation-cancer

The iPad 3G has only been out for a few days now but it has already been disassembled and its inner findings analyzed. While we did expect to find a 3G antenna in this premium iPad model, it was shocking to see that there were actually five.

Can your iPad 3G cook a turkey?

There is no doubt that the recent flurry of 3G devices to hit the market did come with complaints of weak 3G signals. While most of these problems were solved with a firmware update, in some instances it was just not fixable. Take for instant the Google Nexus One which had trouble getting a strong 3G signal. While Google engineers were on it for months in the end it was left unsolvable. We get the feeling that Apple was worried about the same issue with their latest offering 3G offering. To avoid customer backlash and possible problems for their sole carrier AT&T, Apple must have thought it was a good idea to pack 5 antennas into the little tablet. While we don't believe this is enough enough to cook a turkey even if you put it close enough, it does have some detrimental effects.

One can argue that the overall 3G waves emitted from the iPad would still be no more than that of a cellphone but it is important to note that not only does it pack 5 antennas but these are bigger than that of a cellphone. One antenna in particular is the entire LCD frame, yes you heard that right.

OZCAR says: The waves emitted are similar to microwaves so there is no proven link to cancer. However just like a microwave it does cook objects near it. We can't say that it will cook your internal organs during usage because it is not a high powered device like a microwave, maybe a nice little radiation tan?

If this is true there's no way that I'm going to get an iPad! Another thing that I came across was this:

Tawkon measures iPhone radiation, won’t be approved by Apple

I think it’s a crying shame that Tawkon’s iPhone application won’t be allowed in the App Store because it seems like a well-crafted program that could find a large audience.

I’m not too concerned about my cell phone’s radiation but I know a lot of people are. According to Tawkon’s technology page, the app uses an algorithm to determine how much radiation your iPhone is giving off at any given moment and it offers real-time suggestions on how to lower this. This algorithm takes into account known quantities like the radios in the phone as well as variables like distance from the base station, or proximity to the face. The radiation level will change depending on your location or even how you’re using the phone, Tawkon said.

To be fair, this app is only giving a prediction because you’d need expensive equipment to truly measure radiation, but if the algorithm is correctly programed, it should be a great indicator of how much radiation the device is emitting. The app also includes integration with the contacts list and dialer so you can keep an eye on radiation while making calls. Tawkon is hoping to sell the app for $5 to $10 dollars but don’t look for it in the App Store any time soon.

This marvelous feat of software development won’t be coming to your iPhone because Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) told Tawkon, “a diagnostic tool of this nature would create confusion with iPhone owners from a usability perspective.” Bull spit. Apple is just worried about how this would look from a public relations standpoint. This is another case of Apple’s arbitrary rules potentially ruining a developer’s livelihood. This isn’t some silly boob app either, this appears to be a well-done piece of software that took 18 months to create. Furthermore, I could see a lot of iPhone users interested in this because the topic has yet to fully be figured out.

Tawkon plans to bring the app to BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) and Android, where it won’t really have to worry about such silly rejection rules.

Well, Tawkon is Israeli made software so it wouldn't have been an option to buy it anyway. ;)

iPad, what's next....

The clip is in German.
Daughter is visiting father and is helping in the kitchen.
She asks: “Tell me dad, how are you managing with the new I-Pad we gave you for your birthday?”
Father asks: ”What’s wrong?”
