Is gender a social construct?

I stumbled upon a tragicomic study that shows another difference between males and females.

Sex differences in risk seeking behaviour, emergency hospital admissions, and mortality are well documented. However, little is known about sex differences in idiotic risk taking behaviour. This paper reviews the data on winners of the Darwin Award over a 20 year period (1995-2014). Winners of the Darwin Award must eliminate themselves from the gene pool in such an idiotic manner that their action ensures one less idiot will survive. This paper reports a marked sex difference in Darwin Award winners: males are significantly more likely to receive the award than females (P<0.0001).

I stumbled upon a tragicomic study that shows another difference between males and females.

Excerpt:
Winners of the Darwin Award must die in such an idiotic manner that “their action ensures the long-term survival of the species, by selectively allowing one less idiot to survive.” The Darwin Awards Committee attempts to make a clear distinction between idiotic deaths and accidental deaths. For instance, Darwin Awards are unlikely to be awarded to individuals who shoot themselves in the head while demonstrating that a gun is unloaded. This occurs too often and is classed as an accident. In contrast, candidates shooting themselves in the head to demonstrate that a gun is loaded may be eligible for a Darwin Award—such as the man who shot himself in the head with a “spy pen” weapon to show his friend that it was real."
To qualify, nominees must improve the gene pool by eliminating themselves from the human race using astonishingly stupid methods. Northcutt cites a number of worthy candidates. These include the thief attempting to purloin a steel hawser from a lift shaft, who unbolted the hawser while standing in the lift, which then plummeted to the ground, killing its occupant; the man stealing a ride home by hitching a shopping trolley to the back of a train, only to be dragged two miles to his death before the train was able to stop; and the terrorist who posted a letter bomb with insufficient postage stamps and who, on its return, unthinkingly opened his own letter.

This paper reports marked sex differences in the distribution of Darwin Award winners, with males much more likely to receive an award. This finding is entirely consistent with male idiot theory (MIT) and supports the hypothesis that men are idiots and idiots do stupid things.

Violence is being encouraged, actually applauded by the way the article is written.
A quote from another article did have this:

"The transwomen were the AGRESSORS in this situation," writes Kiana. "The first one started yelling at the guy sitting down and then she swung the first punch and her friend jumped in. They were WRONG. Real women get harassed all the time but we usually call the police when it happens. We dont ESCALATE the situation because we know that it could get us Killed. This video is nothing but Male-privelege in a dress."

Two trans women beat the snot out of men harassing them in a restaurant
While the men attempt to defend themselves, they're no match for the two women.

A transgender woman angrily confronts a harasser

After being harassed by men in a restaurant, two transgender women decided they had dealt with enough and took matters into their own hands. Those hands formed fists after the men continued to denigrate the women, leaving the two harassers bloody and dazed.
The incident began when a male customer slides into the women’s booth and mocks one of them, saying in Spanish, “I’d like to sit with a lady.” After the women push him away, he and another customer continue the verbal abuse.

The other man asks the women about their genitalia and spurs one of the women to stand up and angrily lecture the man to be more respectful – not just of them, but of women in general.

But when he calls the women “f****ts,” the other woman loses her cool and all hell breaks loose.
While the men attempt to defend themselves, they’re no match for the two women as they cut loose with a smackdown. The harassers are left staggering around the restaurant and cowering on the floor.

While these two fought back, normally trans women of color are the victims of violent crime. According to HRC, at least 24 transgender women of color were murdered in 2019 alone.

I'm almost finished reading the first book of Mouravieff's Gnosis, and came across this passage that seems relevant to the discussion of gender fluidity and the sexes and how damaging this kind of ideology is to any kind of work on the self.

We must take account of the advantage which man 2 (emotional man) possesses in the transitional times in which we live. The formation and environmental conditions which, at least throughout the West, emphasize intellectual effort and sport, will permit him to equilibrate his mental organism more easily. Certainly, in this excessively intellectualized world, man 2 is constantly hurt, and is rarely one of those who reach the summit. Conversely, if he knows how to weaken the effect upon him of the 'A' influences - which are particularly powerful at the present time - by holding on to the 'B' influences more and more, his emotional nature will permit him to achieve equilibrium between his lower centres more easily and more quickly. For man 3 (intellectual man) in a 'world 3', this is much more difficult. For his mental constitution, reinforced by education, instruction, and the intellectual environment, ends by making a perfectly one-sided being of him. This is the underlying cause of the weakness of the governing class, which today is not able to stabilize and equilibrate the life of human society even though technical progress offers all the necessary material means to reach this end.

It is the same with the who woman who, in this modern world, is endowed with refined emotions, and finds herself in conditions which permit her to realize rapid progress on the esoteric plane. In fact the tendency to develop the intellectual qualities in our civilization favours the equilibrium of her centres, on condition, however, that even if dazzled by science she does not lose her feminine emotionality and does not become too calculating. For her, this preservation of her femininity is an obstacle, a competitive test by which selection is automatically made. She must beware of acquiring a masculine mentality and identifying with this. A male mind in a woman's body excludes the possibility of esoteric development. This type of woman is unfortunately widespread in our days, as is that of the effeminate man, representing what the Tradition calls the neutral sex. Union between these people who have thus deviated from the normal represents the opposite pole of the Androgyne, the summit of deified human power. The Kingdom of God is closed for them.

If the NWO wins they will turn humanity into this 🤮

Those who have read The Lord of the Rings, may recall that the race of Orcs had a particular origin story which I think demonstrated Tolkien's insight:

One of his villains, a lower tier demi-god or high wizard of some sort, was angry at the true creator of the world, at god. -And he looked with jealousy upon the magnificent Elves, the flower of creation.

The Orcs were a twisted mockery of the Elvish race. Because that's what evil does.

That story comes to mind when I consider all this revolting gender twisting, and that image in particular!

Today I came across a pretty disheartening article from almost 30 years ago about boys who have GID (gender identity disorder) and their mothers. As of the DSMV GID has been replaced with more affirming phrase gender dysphoria to describe such cases. The mothers of boys with GID/gender dysphoria were overwhelmingly more likely to suffer depression and borderline personality disorder than controls. The authors went on to speculate that the child-rearing attitudes of mothers with these disorders encouraged symbiosis and discouraged the development of autonomy, which may play a role in the development of these gender-atypical behaviors associated with GID in the DSM III in use at the time. Most studies show that this phase passes when the individual hits puberty, but with the more progressive approach taken these days those children would be more likely to find themselves on puberty blockers and hormone treatments, instead of getting some decent and more circumspect therapy that could address some of these emotional root causes, if that happens to be a contributing factor in the individuals dysphoria/GID.

Mothers of boys with gender identity disorder: a comparison of matched controls

This pilot study compared mothers of boys with gender identity disorder (GID) with mothers of normal boys to determine whether differences in psychopathology and child-rearing attitudes and practices could be identified. Results of the Diagnostic Interview for Borderlines and the Beck Depression Inventory revealed that mothers of boys with GID had more symptoms of depression and more often met the criteria for Borderline Personality Disorder than the controls. Fifty-three percent of the mothers of boys with GID compared with only 6% of controls met the diagnosis for Borderline Personality Disorder on the Diagnostic Interview for Borderlines or had symptoms of depression on the Beck Depression Inventory. Results of the Summers and Walsh Symbiosis Scale suggested that mothers of probands had child-rearing attitudes and practices that encouraged symbiosis and discouraged the development of autonomy.

This was published in 1991. A study like this could not be published or probably even funded today, due to wokeness in both the publication circles and the "ethics boards" to which research applicants must appeal to for their studies to be permitted. I mean that doesn't make it "true" but it does call for further consideration. The introduction to the article cites a lot of other similarly controversial research (just read the link if you're interested since there's less text copy issues):

Recent years have seen a burgeoning interest in gender identity disorders (GID) in children. Boys and girls with GID are distressed about their gender, wish to be of the opposite gender, and manifest a predominant interest in behavior and activities that are typical of the opposite gen- der. Boys with GID prefer female stereotypical activities, such as dressing up in girls’ clothes, playing with dolls, and playing the role of a female in fantasy activities. Symptoms of GID in boys usually emerge between the ages of 2 to 4 in the form of an intense interest in dressing up in female clothes (Stoller, 1968; Green, 1974; Coates, 1985; Meyer and Dupkin, 1985). Although most homosexuals have not had a childhood history of GID (Saghir and Robins, 1973; Friedman, 1988), follow-up studies have found that at least three-quarters of boys with GID become homosexual as adults (Money and Russo, 1979; Zuger, 1984; Green, 1985). The role of biological influences on the development of GID is not understood to date. No differences have been found between boys with and without GID in either morphology of external genitalia or in karyotyping of sex chromosomes (Green, 1974; Rekers et al., 1979). Despite these results, there is indirect evidence from animal studies and from spontaneously occurring endocrinological disorders that suggests that prenatal hormones may influence certain as- pects of temperament, such as energy expenditure and rough and tumble play (Ehrhardt and Meyer-Bahlburg, 1981; Hines, 1982; Friedman, 1988). The authors’ clinical observations Accepted October 16, 1990. Dr. Marantz is Director of Clinical Services, Comprehensive Re- habilitation Consultants, New York City. Dr. Coates is Director, Childhood Gender Identity Unit, Department of Psychiatry. St. Lukes- Roosevelt Hospital Center, and Associate Clinical Professor of Med- ical Psychology, College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia Uni- versity . Reprint requests to Dr. Coates, Director, The Childhood Gender Identity Center, AfSiated with the Psychiatric ssociates of Manhat- tan, P.C., at St. LukeslRoosevelt Hospital Center, 1090 Amsterdam Avenue, New York, Ny 10025. 0890-856719113002-03 10$03.00/00 1991 by the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. of boys with GID as well as observations of others suggest that most have a temperament that involves avoidance of rough and tumble play (Coates and Zucker, 1988). Although GID is presumed to be a relatively rare disorder, epidemiological studies have not yet been carried out to identify the incidence and prevalence of GID in boys and girls. Boys, however, are more often referred to child psy- chiatry clinics for evaluation than are girls (Coates and Zucker, 1988). It is now fairly well established that GID usually occurs in a context of psychopathology other than cross-gender behavior (Bates et al., 1973, 1974, 1979; Bradley et al., 1980; Coates, 1985, 1988; Coates and Person, 1985; Tuber and Coates, 1989). For example, studies have found that extremely feminine boys have more psychopathology than normal controls on behavioral disturbance inventories, such as the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), scoring in the range of psychiatrically referred children (Bradley et al., 1980; Coates and Person, 1985). Coates and Person (1985) found that 60% of their sample of boys with GID met the DSM-ZZZ-R criteria for separation anxiety disorder and also scored in the clinical range on the depression scale of the CBCL. The finding of a relationship between GID and sep- aration anxiety disorder has recently been replicated by Lowry and Zucker (1990). On blind rated Rorschachs, boys with GID, when compared with normal controls, were found to have more evidence of boundary disturbances and a more frequent internal experience of others as overpowering and malevolent (Tuber and Coates, 1989). Boys with GID exhibit chronic suffering that is often expressed directly by them as self-hate. One boy at age three said: ‘‘I hate myself. I don’t want to be me. I want to be somebody else. I want to be a girl.” They often experience the anguish of feeling lonely and isolated. Be- cause most are shy and nondisruptive in school, their psy- chological pain and suffering often go unrecognized by oth- ers in their environment. Studies designed to elucidate the factors that contribute to the etiology of gender identity disorders are important.

MOTHERS OF BOYS WITH GENDER IDENTITY DISORDER for developing strategies for prevention, early intervention, and treatment planning.

While gender identity disorder is comparatively rare, an understanding of the genesis and dynamics of this syndrome promises to illuminate funda- mental mechanisms involved in the development of mas- culinity-femininity and the process of identity acquisition that underlies it. The clinical observations of mothers of boys with GID from several different research units suggest that the mothers have difficulty with affect regulation that manifests itself in psychiatric disorders, such as borderline personality and depression (Stoller, 1968; Bradley et al., 1980; Coates, 1985; Coates and Zucker, 1988; Meyer and Dupkin, 1985). Depression in mothers is a known risk factor in the devel- opment of depression, separation anxiety, and attention def- icit disorder in children (Weissman et al., 1984; Puckering, 1989). Borderline personality disorder in mothers is a known risk factor in the development of borderline personality dis- orders in adolescents (Masterson and Rinsley, 1975). One of the first steps involved in developing an understanding of the cause of childhood psychiatric disorders is to begin to identify parental predisposing factors. Elsewhere, Coates ( 1990) proposed a biopsychodevel- opmental model to explain the origins of GID in boys that involves a complex interplay of biological, psychological, and cognitive developmental predisposing factors. She has explored the contribution of temperament, massive trauma, cognitive representational level of the child, and parental psychopathology to the development of this disorder. She believes that a predisposition in the boy to anxiety, an un- usual capacity for positive emotional connection, an ability to imitate, and a variety of sensory sensitivities as well as parental difficulties in affect regulation interact during a critical period of mental representational ability in the boy’s life (before gender constancy is established) to bring about a GID (Coates, 1988, 1990). According to this model, fam- ilial psychopathology is only one of several significant pre- disposing factors in the development of GID in boys. This paper reports a pilot study that is the first systematic study of psychopathology in mothers of boys with GID. The authors chose to focus on disorders that had been clin- ically observed in the families of these boys by previous investigators. The research reported here represents the start of a series of ongoing family studies and is a preliminary step in the process of pinpointing familial factors that con- tribute to the development of GID. The aims of this pilot study were two-fold: First, to de- termine whether the symptoms of depression and borderline character pathology are significant features of the psycho- logical functioning of mothers of boys with GID; and sec- ond, to determine whether child-rearing attitudes and prac- tices involving interference in the development of autonomy are predisposers to the development of GID as well.

I wasn't sure where to put this so I thought here might be fitting. The UK has its first trans vicar, Reverend Canon Sarah Jones of St John the Baptist Church in Cardiff, who claims that God is non-bnary. Surely not the Christian God? Has the reverend not heard the prayer 'Our Father'? Oh wait, using the word 'father' is passé these days.

Reverend Jones says not everyone has welcomed a transgender vicar with enthusiasm, some have posted transphobic comments. I wonder if they were really transphobic or just common sense and biology? These days even saying that only women can give birth is transphobic.

Huh! This is an interesting turn. For all the push for transgender rights and giving children hormone replacement therapy here in Canada, the federal government is now looking to ban conversion therapy and make it a criminal offence for both adults and children.
