Is the Old Testament worth reading?

I got a copy of From Paul to Mark so I thought about reading the Bible before reading that book. Im reading the Old Testament (currently on 2 Samuel) and so far it has been a giant snooze fest. Im having a hard time understanding what's going on and feel compelled to just skip the OT and move on to the New Testament and then move on to From Paul to Mark.

Is this okay? Or should I continue to read the Old Testament? Is it worth reading?

Read "FPTM" first. Then, at least, you will have some context if you decide to read the OT. Otherwise, you'd need to read dozens of volumes of biblical studies to even have a remote idea of what is going on in those texts. If you really want to continue, say so and I'll see if there is a single volume in my library that might be what you need to read to put it all in context.
