Is the siberian legend "Chysh Khan'' the real santa claus?

Besides all of the interesting info about and related to Santa Claus on Wikipedia, there is also this bit about the red & white amanita muscaria mushroom used as a sacrament in Siberian shamanism.

One could almost say the Christmas gift bringer mythologies are as obfuscated as the whole Jesus Christ/Julius Caesar appellation. Signal to noise ratio, etc.
