Protests in Israel have not been long in coming after Netanyahu fired Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on Tuesday night, Tel Aviv police say protesters blocking the Ayalon highway are “resorting to violence” and “acting illegally.” Clashes between protesters and police are occurring in addition in Caesarea and Jerusalem.
For the first time in demonstrations in Tel Aviv, and among the few times in the district as far as I can remember, the police activated a skunk. Ilana Gritzowski, who returned from captivity, and her partner Matan Tsengawker, were also run over by the skunk.
It seems that there is a conflict of interest in the positions of power and adjustments are being made to reinforce the “crisis of faith”.... In a terse letter that, according to the Prime Minister's Office, was delivered to Gallant during a meeting at 8 p.m., Netanyahu informed him that his term of office would end “48 hours after receipt of this letter.” In March 2023, Netanyahu dismissed Gallant as defense minister after he opposed the government's planned judicial reforms. However, the prime minister reversed his decision a few weeks later.
