Jacques Vallée's Conference in Brussel, november 2011

It wasn't actually his conference, but a 16-minute presentation at the TEDx conference this year.

He talks about how the science of physics will develop over the next 50 years and makes some very interesting suggestions.

One central observation of his is that the current physics deals mostly with physics of energy - what is often missing is the physics of information, which he tries to explain in this presentation.

As part of this, he gives a few examples of synchronicities that happened to him and other famous scientists, such as Carl Jung. According to Vallee, it is now becoming mainstream science that synchronicities are caused by a "double causality": our intentions cause effects in the future, which in turn become the future causes of present effects (synchronicities).

At the end, he mentions that consciousness is generating the illusion of space and time "by traversing through associations in the world of information". According to him, the three dimensions of space and the dimension of time are cultural artifacts that will not be needed in physics in the future.

I agree with Vallee on most of the points. I do not agree with him when he asks us to abandon dimensions. In quantum theory we deal with an infinite number of dimensions, and Jacques Valleee, as a software engineer, should know that he is coding information in multidimensional arrays. Probably, he has aversion to time as a dimension, but then he mentions, with praise, French CNRS researcher Philippe Guillemmant, with his theory of "double causality, who writes on his site:

I just bought the Philippe Guillemant's book and I hope be able to read it in the next days. I also saw the Jacques Vallée's presentation, and IT is interesting, thank you Ark to let us know your thoughts about the Jacques Vallée's suggestions, it will be pretty exciting to read a book which has your favor, a book in French, a real treasure to me and maybe for others French speakers!

This presentation was carried on SOTT a while ago, by the way.

Yes it was, here: http://fr.sott.net/articles/show/6267-Une-conference-hors-du-commun-de-Jacques-Vallee and it is because it was that I could saw it, thank you the team Sott!

Great! That's a good reason why I posted the link to Jacques Vallée's Conference : To emphasize on Guillemant's theory, in order that French speaking members may want to know some more about it (again, here is the link: http://www.doublecause.net).

And I wanted to know what would be the answers to this conference. Thanks Ark for your feedback.

I'd like to add that, to Philippe Guillemant point of view, the extra dimensions are inner dimensions.
Makes sense to me: not "outside" there in space-time, but "inside" us in consciousness!..

So thank you so much Esote for opening this thread , I hope others French speakers will read it too, I would love share this when I will have start to read the book. And you're right to specify again this Url address, because the Guillemant's Website is very interesting! For example, you may consult the book here: http://www.doublecause.net/index.php?page=lelivre.php and this one:
As time goes by, The revolution of the ideas in the modern physics.
http://www.doublecause.net/index.php?page=physique.htm

Welcome all, French speakers or not, if translations help us to work from English to French , it will help you too in translations from French to English!
As C's says:
Learn is fun!

I finally realised a little Pdf (in French) about this subject: "As time goes by, The revolution of the ideas in the modern physics", from the page mentioned previously, here: http://www.doublecause.net/index.php?page=physique.htm

I hope the file will upload and all the links are actives. :cool2:
