I've read about half a dozen negative articles on John Holdren, and he appears to be sure to push the global-warming and population-reduction agendas like there's no tomorrow (whether there will be or not!).

The book does exist, as Amazon.com attests, though it is unavailable because it's an 1100-page academic treatise. Paul Ehrlich is a co-author of Ecoscience..., noted for numerous incorrect predictions including, "'Smog disasters' in 1973 might kill 200,000 people in New York and Los Angeles." (made in 1969) and “I would take even money that England will not exist in the year 2000.” (made in 1969), and was the author of the equally alarmist The Population Bomb (1968, which made Intercollegiate Studies Institute "Worst 50 Books of the Century" -- not necessarily a bad thing, though, of course) and other books.

It looks like Obama picked yet another winner whose past is just now coming to light. And it ain’t pretty... Barack Obama recently appointed John Holdren Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Assistant to the President for Science and Technology, and Co-Chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology — informally known as the United States’ Science Czar.
Well, in a book Holdren co-authored in 1977, the man who is now firmly in control of science policy in this country wrote that:
* Women could be forced to abort their pregnancies, whether they wanted to or not;
* The population at large could be sterilized by infertility drugs intentionally put into the nation’s drinking water or in food;
* Single mothers and teen mothers should have their babies seized from them against their will and given away to other couples to raise;
* People who “contribute to social deterioration” (i.e. undesirables) “can be required by law to exercise reproductive responsibility” — in other words, be compelled to have abortions or be sterilized.
* A transnational “Planetary Regime” should assume control of the global economy and also dictate the most intimate details of Americans’ lives — using an armed international police force.
...has more than enough evidence on his site to prove that Holdren really did co-author this book and that he really did say these things. You won’t believe the actual quotes from the book (with scanned images of the actual book).
Are you scared yet? You should be. One day you might just become one of the undesirables. We all might.

...Holdren predicted in the mid-1980s that climate-related catastrophes might kill as many as one billion people before the year 2020... Holdren’s name also pops up in various, largely successful efforts to elevate taxpayer funding of the global warming industry... Obama claims he wants to put science at the top of his agenda. Then why appoint a guy with no credibility? Try not to laugh.
