The Force is Strong With This One
I don't know if this goes into books or what's on my mind, if its the other feel free to put it there.

I was reading the 'lessons from geese' post in what's on my mind section and the book jonathon livingston seagull immediately popped into my mind.

This had been a favorite book of mind as a youth and at the time I derived strength from the message that it was ok to be different from the crowd. I am sure this stemmed from my awkward teenage years.

So as I was reading the lessons on the geese which seemed like all supportive concepts, it occurred to me that the contents of jonathon livingston seagull could very well be considered sts thinking and could of been a consummate piece of propoganda at the beginning parts, but at the end Jonathon does come back to help others and this return to teach others seems sto.

Anyone remember this book and have thoughts?

I have not read the book, but I understand the concept and your question.

When I first started my process, my sense of core self was so fractured that I had to become very sts ( not mean or nasty to others but more withdrawn, and more forceful about my needs and space) to even gain a perception of who I really was and what was my essense and what was not. Then after the healing process began it allowed me to open up more and more, in more positive ways than before. Perhaps that is why both spectrums are necessary for creation.

We are using the force of entropy/destruction (STS) to break down the false personality

You know even though you didn't read the book, I think that's almost a perfect synopsis of the metamorphosis that occurs in jonathon livingston seagull. He has to leave the pack in order to find himself, in what appears to be an STS move, and the entire time, gulls deride him for being selfish, but then as he transforms into his true self having left the earthly plane through his own process, he recognizes that he has to go back and apply what he has learned, in an STO manner.

I read this book when I was a teenager, it's message was a great help to me at the time. I still have it and have read it again many times. Great book!

I haven't read the book Jonathon Livingstone Seagull but I did see the film in the mid 70's, which stirred a spark in me and has never left. So here I am 35 years later and at last on track.

Speaking of tracks (no pun intended), the music for the film was composed by Neil Diamond, I think I have a cassette tape of it somewhere, I also have the LP ('vinyl' as it's known today) by an orchestra and chorus. Such beautiful music.

Here's the link to Neil Diamond's music from the film
