I have been reading this little book, Social Psychology by Kimball Young, the tittle of the Spanish version is: Social Psychology from the Propaganda, quite interesting, it was written in 1959, the author display the use of the propaganda in WWI and WWII. More than 40 years later things hadn't changed much, difference is just the technology.

The first resource of action is the propaganda. Its aim is triple: in first place, it would shrink the power of the enemy to the eyes of the world, it would try to convinced the enemy population that the cause that their country defends does not have hope; it will provoke a civil war behind the enemy front, and, it will lead to the population enemy into thinking that peace can be achieved easily. In the second place, it will convinced neutral countries that our love for peace and justice on our cause, by contrast with the enemy, that had broken the law and international peace treaty, and also would lead to make believe in neutral countries that the enemy constitute very dangerous threat for them and, for the society of nations and it will annihilate with their help. In third place, it will fortify the faith and trust of our Nation in victory and in the justice of our own cause, and will propel to the masses to do all effort possibles to reach the triumph
