kitty is losing her fur

It is still ongoing though i think. Thanks for the replies. Im not sure about mineral definciency as the meat she gets is usually from a natural grass fed source. Even some deer once in awhile.

Well, I showed the pictures to the vet, and his answer was, that it looks like ringworm. Maybe kitty got over it all by herself, but it would probably the best to try and get the sulfur ointment anyway, in case it's not over, and in case it is something else, or she might get something else.

Sulfur is the most effective, but if you can't get any, various natural sites on the web also say that apple vinegar or tree tee oil may also work, including garlic and turmeric. But don't know about that. Maybe coconut oil? You can also take iodine and dilute it with sodium chloride solution (you can find it in any pharmacy).

Hi Davey, I hope Kosmos is healing and recovering from the lost hair. I have a fondness for cat's and wondered if your Kitty might have a companion like this - that's grabbing the hair around her neck?

Thanks for that. I have seen this picture before.
She is doing well. I think she was just getting something on her fur that must have needed to come out in clumps either because it was clumped together or maybe the substance itself caused tgis. Not sure. One thing i have noticed is that she sure doesnt grow much. She looks like the same kitten i had from the beginning. we are on a farm and my neighbor is Metis and can hunt whenever he wants so she eats well. She will be getting some Canada goose soon.

Not sure if you solved this problem but I had a cat who developed a" licking her fur until she had patches of skin showing" issue. The way I solved it (now my cat was an indoor cat) was by adding the apple cider vinegar to her water. I know cats instinctively detest vinegar, but I was able to get her to take a small amount of it in water. Her fur grew back fast and she stopped itching. If I discontinued the vinegar, the problem would come back, so I know it solved her problem. That apple cider vinegar seems to work wonders---great for animals who are prone to vomiting or have digestive issues and also great for their skin.

Kitty Cosmos had her issues cleared up. I am a little worried about her though. She is obviously due to have babies at any time.Idid not think it possible as she is so young but her extremely big belly and the undulating kittens that are akin to a horror movie say different. How old do cats start having babies? i am worried about her as she is so small and is still basically a kitten herself. It is all very odd to me. Will she be ok? it is hard to know that my little baby was raped out here. lol.

I once knew a cat that had babies at six months old. The birth went very well, according to the owner, but she only had two babies, maybe she was too small for more. He had prepared a little birthing blanket for her in a quiet spot, but she had her babies basically on his bed in the night. Both grew into very healthy big cats! I wouldn't worry, it's a natural process and even the young ones seem to know what to do like licking and providing food etc...

It is just so odd. She is barely five months and so little. Her stomach is so big. And the babies are very active. You can actually basically see them as they push and move around.

OK. I can't sleep and lying awake I did some calculations...The cat I was talking about was nine, not six months old. Maybe someone else can chime in, but the suggestions you can find online is to get her to a vet, because it does seem to be a risk pregnancy.

Ya this is the problem. She is a farm cat and shouldnt even be inside at all. I cannot afford a vet. Unfortunately the best option for her at this point seems to be to let her find a place outside to have them and let nature take its course. Everyone else around here are telling me to shoot her. Maybe if there are any forum members ariund central Alberta that would want to take her in the next couple days would be the only other option.

Hi davey, don't panic. After all everything might just turn out fine. Im keeping my fingers crossed for your kitty and maybe you'll have some more kittens soon :) If I would live close by I would take one!

What a life this kitty has! She is only a couple of months old and already went through more than other cats in three lives ...
