Doesn't matter. The fire is almost certainly stirring up old radioactive fallout from the accident. How much do you want to bet that nobody is measuring the radioactivity down-wind?

Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov on his account on Facebook wrote that a forest fire threatens to spread to the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
Quote:

"The situation regarding fire near Chernobyl escalated. Strong wind threatened to spread the fire to the zone of 20 kilometers around the plant," he warned Avakov.

After the explosion of 1986, Chernobyl was extinguished, and the location is covered by a concrete cover that the Ukrainian authorities are planning to replace next year.

The question is how today still "good" concrete cover?

Exactly. Plenty of radiation stored in the carbon storage house that is nature.

Ben from Suspicious 0bservers evaluated the weather at Chernobyl in his daily Space Weather report @1min45. Last night wind was driving south over Kiev, now it is stalling somewhat.

this is just another event in a series of "God marks Rogue", as saying Russians - ie Universe again and again sends signs, but greedy and deceitful psychopaths trying to "fix" thems weeping away under the carpet.
It was "not delicate hints" with other nuclear power plants, chemical plants, gas pipelines, etc., but junta continues to drive train into the abyss.

Wildfire Rages in Chernobyl's Exclusion Zone (PHOTOS, VIDEOS)

A massive wildfire started Tuesday morning inside the "dead zone" around the former Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine, when the dry grass caught fire, local emergency services said in a statement.

There are numerous videos showing flames in the area that are threatening to approach to the nuclear plant.

The wildfire subsequently reached a forest, where up to 10 hectares (over 24 acres) were ablaze.

And as noted elsewhere on the forum, there have been wild fires in Ukraine not too far from Tjernobyl. Below are some images and video links (below the first two images). The first video is well done and set to music.

Directed by STANISLAV KAPRALOV Drone pilot - YEVGENII USANOV Drone camera - DANIL DEDKOV Bushfires in Ukraine, Chornobyl. April 2020. A fire has broken out in woods near Ukraine's disused Chornobyl nuclear plant, the site of a meltdown in 1986. Up to 200 firefighters, along with scores of trucks and aircraft, were tackling the blaze about 15 to 20km (9 to 12 miles) from the nuclear plant. The meltdown at Chornobyl sent a plume of radiation across Europe, the worst nuclear accident in history.
Not the worst, but bad enough. In the picture below from another video Tjernobyl is located in the middle of the three spot of fire to the left. I don't know what the correspondence is between the colouring and the actual extend of the fires. And one may wonder what began those fires apart from dry conditions:

The above area is large. For comparison there is this map from the Microsoft App:

The center of Kiev is located 95 km south of Tjernobyl.
