Large rugby ball shaped UFO?

On Wednesday night when walking home from work I was struck by this huge oval, rugby ball shaped object hovering in the sky. It had plenty of strobe lights in red/orange and green.

For some reason, I reasoned that it couldn't possibly be a UFO because it was so gigantic, so strange looking, and it hovered for so long (I could see it throughout my journey home that lasts 20m) that it seemed somewhat too obvious for it to be a UFO. Don't ask me why I thought that.
So I discarded the hypothesis.

Still, the idea kept bugging me as I've never seen anything like that, so today I made a search on "oval shaped flying objects" and came across a UK page for UFO reports where 3 witnesses, all of them living within the area I live, reported the same UFO (oval shaped and strobe lights), on the same evening I had my sighting.

Date of Sighting: 20/4/11

Witness Statement: This was an oval sape with lots of strobing orange/green light. It seems to fit in with the Romford sighting it was movng north to north east, not too fast but then it went out of sight due to buildings. Sorry Ronford sighter was spooked but he has given me my sanity back.

Witness Statement: Me and my daughter were walking down the road and we walked passed a alley and looked up it was a obected moving same shape as a ufo with red lights on each side but the main colour was a grey greenie colour and after a minute it moved behind the tree and just disappered. We trIed to take a photo but it would not show up clear.

Time: Early evening
Witness Name: Holly Cracknell

Witness Statement: My sister saw a light in the sky while walking back from Harold wood it was bigger than a plane but was defiantly not a balloon or anything,it was rugby ball shaped and appeared to have a clear looking maybe glass top although we couldn't see inside. It had a bright white light and a red light ,it made no sound and was hovering.it deffo wasn't a plane.lost sight of it when it went somewhere over elm park.

What I saw seems to be exactly the same these three witnesses described, so I'm now tending towards the hypothesis that it was indeed a UFO. I suppose that the gigantic size and low altitude puzzled me.

Why didn't I care to learn how to operate the camera on my mobile phone before... :rolleyes:
