Lena

In the recent C session, a member was asking about a loved one and the Cs said:

A: Don't grieve so much. He is held back and saddened by your tears.

I wonder if this applies to our 2D friends as well. We are grieving over Lena, and missing her so much. Even though we "let her go", does our grief make her hold back? My heart is broken.

This is a tough thing to try to navigate. Here's my thoughts on it, and I may be wrong, or if more information is found, I may change the way I see it.

First of all, grieving is natural to all of us with a "heart". It's unavoidable. But letting it fill your life, grieving deeply, all of the time, I think is what may hold her back. Gurdjieff said that the hardest thing to let go of is our suffering. And, grief is a form of suffering. If we start wallowing in grief, if that's all we can think of and succumb its pull, we can, I think, hold the loved on back from fully transitioning. Like I said, this is a hard subject to navigate.

I think that if you are worried about holding Lena back, you could still talk to her and let her know that it is okay for her to fully transition and that you will miss her and still grieve for her departure, but you will be all right and will, in time, not suffer so much; it's just something that you need to do in honor of her and her time spent with you.

Lots of hugs and warm wishes to you and your husband @SevenFeathers. I and my family have had kitties since I was 9 years old. From time to time we have had to assist in their passing due to their suffering and obvious inability to survive. Not once, in all those years (60+) has a cat ever died naturally. You hope and pray that a sick animal would slip away in the night, but they never do. I have grieved for all of my pets but only for a shortish time. That might sound callous but I realise that everything has its allotted time span and once it is time for the animal to pass, that is what occurs. I know that their spirit survives and their physical suffering is over. It also leaves room in my life for another animal, of which there are thousands needing a good and kind home. My grief for them has ended but my memories always remain and I hope it will be the same for you both eventually.... :hug2:
