A Canadian German co-production this TV series was called by the New York Daily News "the most imaginative Sci-Fi since Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"
and i must agree with that.
It breaks all the sci-fi cliches , there is no metal nuts-and-bolts spaceships, noble heroes and the like, the main characters are all flawed in one way or another, and their adventures take place(at least season 1 to 3)in the so-called 'Light"universe
which is a very dark cruel place in reality.
In season 4 they cross over into the 'dark' universe ,where Earth is located, much feared by the 'light' universe inhabitants because it is supposedly chaotic and unpredictable unlike the 'light universe' which is ordered(as in controlled) by 'his divine shadow' on whose orders the Lexx(a living semi-intelligent bio-engineered space going bug in the shape of a wing-less dragonfly) was constructed/bred ,and its also the 'most destructive force in the two universes' as it is capable of destroying whole planets.
The characters ,who are fugitives from H D Shadow, accidentally steal the
Lexx and escape with it.

Even thou its a relative 'old' series ,over 10 years, the parallels to todays ponorized
world are astounding and the power structure of the 'light' universe IMO gives a glimpse of what a STS 4D world could be like .
In series 4, which is set on earth, one of the mega bad dudes who crossed over with the Lexx ,installs his foolish sidekick as a puppet president with a surprise election win...shades of the Bush Reich???

It is classed as MA15+ for its medium level violence and sexual references but i find it less violent than most of today's 'normal TV' and no-one actually gets to have any sex :P only the frustration of being too preoccupied with it

Its only available in music/video shops but if you spot it ,its well worth checking out

Hi, rrraven,

I agree with you about Lexx. I watched it a few years ago now, and got quite hooked. It's funny and scary at the same time; even the rather hammy acting was endearing!

I haven't seen Series 4; I only saw 1 and 2, possibly 3; can't remember now.

Tried to post this yesterdey, but couldn't get 'through'!

I have to agree with you on Lexx, It is one of the more pre-preposterous, sci-fi, films -ever!
I cannot take away from your description, except for your current correlation (excellent). It has been years to have seen it, but your words are spot on.
Now that i know a little more, it is no wonder that "they" canceled it. to make a side note, my Mother passed away last year on july 17, her body was here, but we knew she left, a few moments days, earlier. The Dragonfly Butterfly, has significant notice for my Father, Carlos Casteneda talkes about the dragonfly being the guardian, gate keeper-between here and there, (a Gnat or a dragonfly, im unsure).
Just as Lexx's ship, displays the 'Two-Universes", I have to ask, what Sycronicities are important, How can i tell another what to notice and what to not?
I understand sycronicities are 2-fold, serving self and the other side,-others.

In other words i dont want to tell my Dad, Dragonflys are gate-keepers, between life and the after-life. Even though, in the same uncertain terms, i have told him that. Everytime a dragonfly, comes over my dad thinks it has something to do with my mom passing.
`more in a moment,
Steven
