Found a video that I think portrays pretty good how noise/lies can affect perception of reality, it's pretty good parallel in regards to what lies do to truth.
Video is in Russian. While the subject discussed is about dangers of religion penetrating to science, the first 1:27 I find particularly interesting:

In front of you there is a absolutely even pseudo-chessboard made through graphical program . The noise with smaller squares creates an illusion for your brain. To you, it looks bended. One absolute straight line of truth, does not help your mind to get rid of illusion of lines being bended. Even two straight lines of truth does not fully beats the illusion.
You can emphasize truth, by changing the color of it, yet it does not get rid of the illusion fully. It's more effective to emphasize the noise in contrast color, i.e. lies that deceive your mind. What is best best - is to get rid of this lie (by removing these small squares).
