Living Under A Name

This might see a little odd, a little noisy even, but while traveling in Alberta, drove through an area called ‘Dead Man’s Flats’. There are two official stories why this is named so, but perhaps the government named it for the Native reserves there; would be just like them in their sick way. You can read the two short name story options given if interested. - _http://www.albertacentennial.ca/history/viewpost.aspx~id=244.html

Anyway, was thinking about communities across the land whose very people live under pathological names for the deeds they did or do. There, too, are the roads we drive down - Bush Avenue or Cheney Street; if these even exist or we may work and sail on the USS George H.W. Bush or go to school at Rothschild High or seek medical treatments from Rockefeller University Hospital etc.

Many of us live in fairly quite named areas, some representing environments and so on. Across the mountains there is a small community of Balfour, named for the lord under the declaration so in named. Then there is Amherst Nova Scotia named for the general of genocide; so many Colonial identifications of this sort. On and on many live, drive and work under malignant or evil names the world over never giving it much thought. Perhaps one day there will even be a Bibi Netanyahu international airport – do we keep accepting this until our very planet is renamed Earth Corp.?

Was thinking that if people started to wake up to these names and said things in petitions like, excuse me Mr. Mayor, oh so sorry but we the people named herein are not going to drive down Newt drive or over Palin overpass and we're certainly not living anymore under the name of Rove Missouri until it is changed; the people will decide, the message is sent. These might be little things but if enough people started to take note of what names are centered around their very lives and who really in person they equate and start making some noise, others might start to get the picture and refuse these in your face associations of evil – banish these names from our collective minds or better still, assign them to Toxic waste sites. If enough people truly thought about who's name commands where they lived, they might demand change, which exposes those names to the taints they really had, not what they were sold.

Hi, voyageur:

Apparently, the Nazis saw importance in this.

I remember reading a story about five years ago (sorry, couldn't find a link) about a lady that researched the names of streets in her German city. She found that many of the streets were named for prominent Nazis. She and others took action and got the street names changed.

Likely, such small things can send subliminal messages. Acceptance of evil or erasing of history.

Thanks Mac for the link.

Of these "small things", yes it seems all means can and will be used that cause us to accept the unacceptable or condition a historization, made all the more easier as we seem mostly divided by evil will.
