Logging in to the forum?

Hi all,

I've been trying to log into the forum and I get an error: "Oops! We ran into some problems.
Security error occurred. Please press back, refresh the page, and try again."

When I first tried to log in, I was presented with a dark screen with white type. I've refreshed the page and nothing. Anyone else having this problem?

right, did you have several tabs open perhaps and were already logged in in another one and so the forum couldn't log you in twice essentially? Just a thought.
I don’t think it’s that. At any given point in time I have some 10 forum tabs open and I have no issues of this kind. I sometimes get a similar message to the one Meg got on other sites, but I don’t remember ever getting it on the forum. Hence my suggestion about deleting cookies and cache, as it solves the problem for me.

Recently there’s been another post about logging in troubles and I now wonder if they’re related. Especially that deleting cookies helped with logging in there too:
Disappearing posts

I cleared my browsing history, cookies etc. and refreshed. For the past few minutes, when I tried to respond to this post, the forum asked me to log on with the same error above. I refreshed again and got the black screen with white type. I refreshed again and I can post a response now. I'm looking around for Rod Serling...

I'm on a Google Chromebook laptop. I don't know if that makes a difference?

I'm logged in according to what I see on the forum. I keep getting a note from the forum telling me "the active user has changed". I've had to refresh several times in order to reply to this post.

What is weird to me is that I've cleared my browser cache and the forum doesn't ask for my password. It should once I've cleared my browsing history, osit.

It should ask you to log in again once you've cleared cookies, not the history.

You can use extension in Chrome:

It lets you delete only the cookies for the web site loaded in any tab.

That way, you don't lose your logged-in status on EVERY site in your browser all at once.
