The Force is Strong With This One
Hello everyone,
We {my wife, four children and I} really could use a little help. I'm starting to feel a little lost, I used to just feel alone apart from when reading the comments at SOTT, but I fear our current difficulties are putting rather a lot of strain on our lives. For some background, my introduction is here: http://cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php/topic,36959.0.html
Please believe me when I declare that I also have much to give and share; and if any of you can find it in your heart to help, I will sooner be in a position to do so. Right now I must put my children first and beg for your help.
I really need legal representation here in France. I have now two procedures running concurrently, one correctional for causing outrage to a person charged with a public mission, for which I could face the maximum term of six years; the other civil trying to prevent the Regime Social des Independents from taking our house.
Please, does anyone know of a good human rights lawyer in France, or for that matter Europe, as I want to fight, resist, push back harder. I am even prepared to take this to the European court of Human rights if I can find some decent professional help. I have tried a local advocat, but he seems to have no interest in finding justice done.
This is a copy of an email to Joe with the salient information of the correctional case, which arose from the flames of my civil case:
I'll be translating this request to the French site too, provided I can log in there, haven't tried before.
All advice most welcome, and thanks for listening,
Jeff

Hi Joe, and thank you so much for your reply.
You've obviously read my message to Laura, so you have a little background, there is more in my post on page two of the newbie section still awaiting approval; I don't knw if you have seen that, I can copy and paste it into another email if you would like. With that in mind, I'll try to keep this just about the facts pertaining to my immediate situation.
I am facing a tribunal correctionel for causing outrage to a person charged with a public mission. the maximum terms for which, as explained very carefully by the gendarmes, is six years prison ferme and a 7500€ fine. Now I'm convinced that I'll be getting nothing like that, but with the animosity I am recieving from the justice system and the forces of order here, I am genuinly scared that an example might be made of me.
To cut a very long story short enough for half an hour away from my new baby on a sunday afternoon, it all starts with a dispute between the RSI {regime soicial des independents} and my enterprise individuel. After professional accountants hired by me utterly failed to make contact at all with said regime, i found myself being persued by them and the huissiers for a sum of 37000€. While trying to depose some papers with the secretary a polite dispute started with regard to translation services and the right to be understood by the tribunal. The secretary, in a state of dispair, asked me why i moved to France. This is a question that I would have loved to answer in great depth, but I read her depseration as exasperation and frustration at not being able to understand my argument, so i asked her if she had a problem with me being english. At this, she flew into a rage, demanded that i leave immediately and in my storming out of the office, she feels i did enough to cause outrage.
During my three hour interrogation by the police I was coerced and menaced into giving them enough information for a prosecution - the officer telephoned the procurer immediately upon seeing my signature on the testimony and recieved in seconds the date for prosecution, nowhere near enough time for the procurer to hear any of the pages of mitigating circumstances offered.
So there we are. I want to stay and fight. I insulted france, the secretary took that as a personal outrage. i want to do my bit, where i can, to expose the authoritarian followers. My wife, understandably, won't let me without some serious help. I know there was a case that went before the european court of human rights that overturned a conviction of a guy holding a "caisse toi pauvre con" at a sarkozy gathering.
At the moment we are also putting in a back up plan of relocation. Any ideas?
anyway, family becons. Please help me find my way.
All the best to you and yours,
jeff and family
