Losing My Place On Earth

A Disturbance in the Force
I keep loosing my place on earth. 5-6 seconds at a time. No scary, just weird. Mostly while driving. I don't loose my ability to function (like driving or walking), I just don't know where I am, in a - 'hear I am on planet earth' kind of way. Anyone else???

Sounds like you might be talking about dissociation. If so, I'd say yes, pretty much everyone else has and does experience this in different forms and to different degrees. If you haven't already, check out Martha Stout's book, The Myth of Sanity and the associated thread here.

Hi Ravenblackwood,

I agree with Renaissance. It sounds like it's a case of dissociation. Everyone does it to one degree or another. It's a natural function of the human psyche and The Myth of Sanity gives a great overview.

Since this is your first post on the forum, we would appreciate it if you would post a brief intro about yourself in the Newbies section, telling us how you found this forum, how long you've been reading it and/or the SOTT page, whether or not you've read any of Laura's books yet, etc. You can check that section for other intro posts to get an idea.

Welcome aboard :)

Re: Loosing My Place On Earth

So I go to look up' The Myth of Sanity' book on Amazon which finds the book, but the 2nd book on the list is 'The Sociopath Next Door' - hahaha. It's not looking good for me ;).

Then the 4th book down is 'The Myth of ME: A handbook to assist us toward sanity' which is more along the lines of a person not staying in a 'sheep' state but waking up their conciousness.

Well that settles it - I pick book 4 :). Just kidding I purchased both book's because all information is valid when taken as information.

Thank you Renaissance for the thread on the book, I'm going to read it now (and who's up at 4:09 in the morning? Bless you for answering me).

Also Skyalmian - I live in Rio Rancho, New Mexico which is right outside Albuquerque (upper left). And yes, I found this website by doing research on the Dulce Base here in New Mexico. Do you think my problem is where I am on earth?
