Love Means Nothing

When I read the topic title I thought it was something coming from someone who was depressed and thought that there was no love. Or that their loved one had turned on them, similar to "Does our friendship mean anything to you?" I kind of thought that you personally might have had some personal issues before I read the post, Deedlet, but that would seem like a swamp post. I didn't even know about the relation to tennis.

"Love means nothing"… what is the first thing that comes to your mind when you read this?

At the moment, "Love means nothing" or _www.lovemeansnothing.ca is the website/slogan for the Rogers Cup in Toronto.

For those of you that don't know, the term "love" equals to 0 in Tennis.
This slogan is written in large writing in the background of the tennis matches and shown quite frequently.

When I first saw the slogan, my mind didn’t go to the Tennis score; I perceived a negative connotation given in the message. I was just wondering if others see the same thing? Or is it just my vivid imagination? :umm:
Didnt know about the tennis score.
When I saw the title of the thread my first thought was - What? Which bitter and cold person wrote this.

The first thing that comes to my mind is the desire to find out who said it and what they are trying to communicate.
I know that "love" means zero in tennis, I'm just wondering why it's supposedly meaningful as a slogan for the Rogers Cup in Toronto. :umm:

i agree..i had the exact same sensation, wow..didn't know that about tennis.

I know it's kind of weird, because all the time you're told "players love the game" and it gives passion and dedication a different meaning for spectators, and so on, love means nothing as much as a truism as it is in the context of tennis, it's a weird way to twist peoples curiosity, maybe they are in need of TV audience?

just my 2 cents here.
