Lump in my neck

The Force is Strong With This One
Hello

From some time ago i have a lump in my neck and i feel a bit tired, i went to a doctor and he have no idea i know SOTT readers are no doctor but maybe someone had experienced this and there is some explanation for this

thank you before hand

Hi parapadi,

I'm not a doctor or nurse. Finding a lump is somewhat unsettling as this has happened to me. Lumps aren't necessarily life threatening and there are two that are fairly common.

You might look into sebaceous cysts or lipomas. A sebaceous cyst is (layman's terms) a cyst that is filled with fatty substances or oils produced by the body. A sebaceous cyst can grow roots and cause damage to surrounding tissues. They can sometimes be inflamed and sore to the touch.

Lipomas generally occur after the age of 40 and are common. They are benign, fatty tumors. They are somewhat moveable, not sore to the touch and also rather soft to the touch.

Both are fairly easily removed.

However, you should seek out another doctor or medical person for an educated diagnosis.

I know one individual who had a lump in the back of his neck, like where glandular lumps appear, and it turned out to be like a boil. It kept growing, hurt, broke open, drained and went mostly away. This happened a couple of times and he finally had to have the "kernel" of the boil surgically removed. It was outpatient surgery and seems to have been effective. The doctors said it probably started as a staph infection in a hair follicle or something.

You might want to see a different doctor if the one you saw has no idea.

Hi Parapadi,

Totally agree with what the ladies told you. I had a similar problem several years ago. Went to a dermatologist who did not know what to do with it (always reassuring..). Then I went on holiday and the swelling got really bad and I went to see a doctor over there who told me it was a cyst. Just like in Laura's story, it grew, broke open, I drained it and when the kernel was removed, it never came back. Years later, I was tested as having a severance intolerance to dairy. When I eat dairy (especially ice cream), I get a huge cyst in the following days.

Allergies or intolerances can 'provoke' cysts, lipomas, etc. because when the body does not know how to respond to a substance (because it is allergic or intolerant to it), it sometimes stores it somewhere in the body, surround it with fat (in the case of a lipoma) and 'wait' until it knows what to do with it. So sometimes a change in the diet helps.

I'm not saying that this is what you have, but it's another possibility.

The fatigue is also not necessarily related to the lump. Fatigue is almost always the result of bad nutrition.

After I decided that big pharma and the unfortunate doctors who endorse their concoctions are in the business of keeping us sick, I discovered amazing content on the web with regard to alternative medicines and good nutrition.

There are obviously loads of stuff all over the show, but this one link I came across has some amazing content:

Click on the 'Free Interviews' link and then check out these particular ones:

Edward Group on Total Health
Burton Goldberg on Alternative Medicine (Part 1)
Burton Goldberg on Alternative Medicine (Part 2)
Lorraine Day on Cancer (Part 1)
Lorraine Day on AIDS, Vaccines & Breast Cancer (Part 2)
David Wolfe on our Living Food

After I watched Dr. Edward Group's video and checked out his website (_www.ghchealth.com) I purchased his book 'Health Begins in the Colon'. I short, we all just forgot what it feels like to have all the energy in the world and feel really, really good.

These guys are in the business of making people well again, and they reveal some shocking facts about big pharma. Hope this helps :)

Hi and thanks everyone

Some detail about the lump it is very small is not even visible but you can feel it if you touch the right place and it seems like muscular strain more than a cyst or maybe is very deep cyst

The fatigue is also not necessarily related to the lump. Fatigue is almost always the result of bad nutrition.

yes i think my nutrition is bad (sometime have no time to eat so i consume cookies or junk food )

I once had a cyst like the one you described. It was an enlarged lymph node due to a flea bite on the top of my head.. or at least that was what my doctor said.. -And my cat had had fleas.

An other time i had an other lump on my neck the size of an egg, but that was due to mononucleosis, but since I don't know your age or medical history, this might not be a possibility at all..

I have one now behind my left ear.

Yesterday I discovered it when I had to scratch behind my ear. It's a pretty small one. It didn't hurt until I touched it. However with time it started to hurt more and more.
Today the areas around both of my ears hurt. I feel that it is some kind of infection. It feels like the flu, but not really the flu, because only my ears feel infected?

I also thought about what I could learn from this. Why my ears? I never had this before.
Then I thought about some days before. I was outside with my mother and she kept telling me to put my hat on so I won't catch any cold. I told her I was fine.
Perhaps I wasn't listening? Just a thought.. Many times it turned out that listening to my mom was the best thing to do. Guess I never really learned that one!
Just a thought though.

At first I was thinking big things like a tumor and stuff. But I just really can't come up with any reason something like that could happen all of a sudden. I'm eating as healthy as possible (okay except for the white rice now and then). And family and friend wise it's okay. Though I'll keep all options open.
However! I have started taking enzymes a couple of days ago. Could these enzymes be correlated to this? I'm thinking not, but who knows!

This is in it:

I read this here: _http://www.ehow.com/how-does_4620822_neck-bump-develop.html

Enlarged Lymph Nodes

Your lymphatic system includes lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and thymus. Water, proteins, and other fluid that nourishes the body's tissues are returned to the bloodstream by 'lymph'. As it is circulated through the lymphatic system, lymph passes through lymph nodes. Your body contains hundreds of lymph nodes because they are a vital part of the immune system. These small masses of lymphatic tissue filter out bacteria and viruses. Many lumps in the neck are often enlarged lymph nodes. A lymph node can swell as it traps bacteria. The size of these enlarged nodes is generally 1 cm by 1 cm. If you apply pressure to the swollen lymph node, it may be painful and tender. Common causes for enlarged lymph nodes include sore throat, tonsillitis, dental infection, and bacterial infection. Once your body gets rid of the infection, these enlarged lymph nodes will return to normal size. Viral causes of enlarged lymph nodes include AIDS, HIV disease, infectious mononucleosis and the common cold.

I'm hoping for the common cold?

Here's an image of the lympth system in the head, I put an arrow on where the bump is located (low behind the ear):

Monday I'll go to the doc to see what it is. Any advice etc. is welcome.

Painful enlarged lymph nodes are pretty common when you're fighting an infection. If you have some vitamin C, you can have it often and in high tolerable doses. Another helpful thing is colloidal silver. Perhaps others have other tips of things you can do these weekend before you see your doc. Maybe it will start healing by then. Get good rest and be comfortably warm.

The enzymes are anti-inflammatory when taken between meals, so they should be alright. Hope you get well soon and let us know how it goes.

Will do! Thanks a lot for the input!

Hi parapadi, often small bumps are swollen lymph glands as has been suggested, which swell up even if you are fighting a minor infection. Fatigue could easily be a symptom of a minor infection as well. So, it could simply be that your body has been fighting a slight viral or bacterial infection for a while but is taking a long time to win the battle because your diet doesn't support your immune system.

Of course, there could be many other explanations as well.

Oxajil, for what it's worth, I have had boils form behind my ears which can become quite painful as they swell. The first time I had one, it had swollen so much that I couldn't sleep on that side because when I put my head on the pillow it would put pressure on the boil. My doctor eventually lanced the boil (that really hurt) and gently drained it. He sent some of the liquid to the lab for analysis which came back saying I was fighting a staph infection from the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus.

Staph is a common bacteria found on the surface of our skin and throughout our environment. Back then, I was treated with antibiotics, however that could be why we are now seeing increased cases of Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. I think I would prefer to treat with something closer to nature, like oregano oil or garlic or something.

I do imagine this can create quite a bit of concern, so I hope you both soon find a solution.

For what it's worth,
Gonzo

Hey guys:

Yesterday in the morning I started feeling fatigue and somewhat of a cold coming on. I immediately began taking Echinacea, vitamin C, multi vitamins, drank mms... and the fatigue and cold symptoms disappeared. But by night I felt a very painful feeling under my jaw and noticed that I had a swollen lymph right under the left side of my jaw/chin.

I also happen to have a cyst on the left side of my gum in the front of my mouth that’s quite painful but I’m treating it with mms and salt… so it seems like its getting better. I’ve had them before and treated it with mms & salt.

So anyway today I went to the doctor and he told me that my body is fighting some sort of virus and that it’s ok that the gland is swollen and that it’s “doing its job.” He didn’t recommend anything for the pain, and said that it will go away on its own, but I should come back in a month if it’s still there.

I showed him the cyst and asked if it was maybe due to it, that my body is fighting this infection.. and he said no, that’s just a cyst. He seemed very non-shelant about it so I felt a bit of relieve that there is nothing seriously wrong. But it doesn’t change the fact that it still hurts…

I think we have some colidial silver, I might try taking some of that tomorrow, other than that I don’t know what else to do.

Anyone have experience with anything like this?

search the forum for "baking soda" or "sodium bicarbonate" and read the protocol - might be a good one for you to try.

Some of these symptoms may also be results from the EE program. I've noticed various aches and pains as "stuff" has been moving up and out of my body. During those times, I realized that quite a few of the forum members were also experiencing similar symptoms as well at the same time. I'm now at the point where this "stuff" is around the shoulders, neck and head area. In addition to the great advice given, you may want to keep this in mind as a possibility. Just a thought.

Parapadi, from what you described, and I am assuming it is on the back of your neck, it is very likely it is sebaceous gland.
These are the microscopic glands which are most abundant on the scalp extending to the neck and upper back and their function is to secret oily/waxy matter for skin lubrication. Sometimes they do not empty or drain properly and they can become palpable. It is very likely wrong diet, stress etc. could be culprit for this disbalance in the gland function.
Whatever you do, do not pick on it or try to squeeze it, as this will result with infection and very painful boil.
The best natural remedy is application of hot dressing and calendula cream several time a day. Steam room is also helpful. Even so the chances are it will remain slightly palpable till the rest of your life. This is called aging you know ;)
