M5.0 + Earthquakes Past 7 Days

Globally the past seven days (04/04/2010 to 04/11/2010) there have been 42 recorded earthquakes with magnitude 5.0 or greater. The latest one hitting Spain at M6.2. Yet MSM still reports that nothing unusual is going on.

Being an avid earthquake-watcher, I'd agree Michael that it's pretty hot right now.

And, true enough, that's only what we 'know'.

And lot of them pretty shallow on 10km of depth, not to forgot all these volcanoes eruptions around the world....,.... According to NASA EA observatory, 21 eruptions in last 3 months (w/o deep sea activities), info from web page:

This afternoon, close to the time of this last quake in Nice at 17:17, i heard a sonic boom while in side the house, and thought i felt a slight motion that would be characteristic with a shock of a Sound wave.

Nice is a long ways from this area, but maybe it was not an earthquake but an exploding meteor perhaps. Any one feel, or hear of anything near this area?

Added: Though it very well could have been a military jet conducting maneuver's, as they use this corridor quite frequently doing pratice runs. But never mach 1 that i have witnessed.

Here in the south-west of the Alps, we had yesterday (02/26) at around 11 pm an earthquake close to 5...
Our house has been shaking for a few seconds.
It's about the second time that it happens in more than twenty years !
