In a press release, VMRO-DPMNE pointed out to nationalist statements coming from Bulgaria in the wake of the announcement that a friendship treaty will be signed in August, and again called on SDSM to publish the full text of the agreement.
“The Macedonian people have the right to see the concessions Zaev made. We see Bulgarian experts jubilantly saying that the treaty puts an end to ‘Macedonianism’, and this attack is being glossed over by the SDS led institutions. Zaev announced changing our history books while Bulgarian member of the European Parliament Andrey Kovachev says that Macedonia has a fully falsified history”, VMRO-DPMNE said in its press release.
Following a meeting with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov in Sofia, Zoran Zaev said that the treaty will be signed on the day of the Ilinden Uprising, and that Borisov will be a guest of honor in Krusevo, the site of the failed 1903 rebellion against the Ottoman Empire. One of the Bulgarian demands over the treaty, which Bulgaria raised as a condition to support Macedonia’s EU and NATO accession, is joint celebrating of what Bulgaria calls shared historic moments. Foreign Ministers from both sides ironed out details about the treaty over the weekend, but again no details were made public.
“VMRO-DPMNE supports building of good neighborly relations, based on mutual respect. VMRO-DPMNE will support all decisions that improve our relations with our neighbors, but we will not support moves that are contrary to the interests of the Macedonian people and state”, VMRO-DPMNE said in its press release.
World Macedonian Congress and Macedonian Manifesto reject agreement with Bulgaria on anti-Macedonian grounds and harmful to national and state interests

The agreement with Bulgaria is against the good neighborly relations with Macedonia, says one of the three declarations published Tuesday by the World Macedonian Congress and the Macedonian Manifesto due to concerns about the state of the Macedonian state and nation regarding the announced signing of the agreement on good neighborly relations between the two countries and the announcement for joint celebration of the Ilinden holiday.
We believe that the agreement with the Republic of Bulgaria is against the good neighborly relations with the Republic of Macedonia, because Sofia does not recognize the Macedonian people and the Macedonian language, it does not recognize Macedonians in Bulgaria and suspends their rights and freedoms, inaugurates a “common” Macedonian-Bulgarian history with negation of Macedonian history, it proclaims Macedonia as the “second Bulgarian state”, implies a revision of Macedonian history in Macedonian books and literature and establishes a joint Macedonian-Bulgarian celebration of significant dates, events and figures from the history of the Macedonian people as Bulgarian, reads the declaration containing 15 points.
The president of the World Macedonian Congress Todor Petrov added that Ilinden is a national holiday for the Macedonian people, not a Bulgarian national holiday.
We remind that August 2nd is a day of Macedonia’s statehood and a national holiday of the Macedonian people, not a Bulgarian national holiday. Macedonians in their homeland and across the diaspora will never accept a treaty with Bulgaria on anti-Macedonian foundations, said Petrov.
The other two declarations refer to the defense of the name of Macedonia and the identity of the Macedonian nation, that is, the sovereignty, unity and statehood of Macedonia.
The EU and NATO are not worthy of changing the name of the state and the identity of the nation, said Petrov at Tuesday’s press conference.
The World Macedonian Congress also calls for rejection and non-recognition of any other name except the Republic of Macedonia and rejection of any referendum.
On the whole territory of the Republic of Macedonia and in its international relations, the official language is only Macedonian and its Cyrillic alphabet, according to the World Macedonian Congress and the Macedonian Manifesto.

Dear residents of Butel. Today, a great deal of damage has been done, an act that doesn’t promise coexistence, life! the first person of VMRO-DPMNE from the municipality of Butel Darko Kostovski wrote on his FB profile, after over 30 graves at the Orthodox cemetery in Ljuboten were broken.
Certain group of cowards entered the area of one of the oldest churches in this region of St. Nicholas in the village of Ljuboten (protected as a cultural heritage), literally in a brutal way broke Orthodox graves, sing them in the most cowardly manner! Damaging a sacred place !!! This is happening for the second time, and it is not by accident that it happens twice at a time when SDS rules! If participants in this ugly and cowardly act do not get caught and condemned as soon as possible, Oliver Spasovski must urgently resign !!! Kostovski wrote.

US VP Mike Pence called the SDS leader Zoran Zaev earlier today. It’s not known what was on the agenda, one can certainly imagine part of the discussion was the name negotiations with Greece, considering Pence spoke to Tsipras prior to speaking to Zaev’s translators.
Zaev confirmed the conversation took place. Prior to the US Elections Zaev publicly supported Hillary Clinton.

Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic repeated his position that Serbia was wrong to recognize Macedonia under its constitutional name. During his visit to Athens, where he met his Greek counterpart Nikos Kotzias, Dacic said that Macedonia has always had a negative position toward the Serbian claim on Kosovo.
Macedonia recognized Kosovo’s independence and supported the push of the former Serbian province to join UNESCO, which angered many in Serbia. Dacic said that, therefore, it was not fair on Serbia’s part to recognize Macedonia as the Republic of Macedonia.
