OK no thread on this found, so I have no Idea where to start, but I personally think it should be discussed.

The link above will give most people more than enough material on the woman, some say she was the best thing since sliced bread, others the most evil machine on the planet.

My personal view is that she changed the lives of millions of people from a community living style to a state living style; effectively taking away anybodies choice!

Being right wing, she played into the hands of the bankers and big money owners at the expense of everyone else.

Lets just think what GBP 4 million could do for the poor and needy; or read:

Lady Thatcher is having a ceremonial funeral, rather than a state funeral, and the costs will be borne jointly by the Government and the state. Policing could cost around £4 million if security is as tight as at the Queen Mother's funeral.

borne jointly by the Government and the state.

Gotta love that nifty bit of psychobabble; in other words, the slaves' wages will be paying for it.

What's there to deal with? We can't do anything as long as everyone believes in having psychopaths for heroes.

It would require awareness - not just among a few, but among the masses. Which is not happening. At this point, a better question might be: How could they have been dealt with when there was still time to do so?

At this point, the most practical thing seems to be to learn about them, how they work, to increase chances of short-term survival and the ability to get meaningful things done. And spreading that knowledge with the hope that future generations, in a world most likely soon blasted back to the stone age, will be able to deal with them when the playing field is leveled - in the tribal settings that would then arise.

In my house my mom mentioned it so sadly and I was like LOL sure, everyone were like why are you laughing at her? well as remarked in a SOTT article, Chaves died and lots of people didn't give a damn.

I don't know enough about her to comment about her. But I wonder about being right wing and left wing. I don't agree with everything on the left, and I don't agree with everything on the right. In USA. I continue to feel it's all corrupt, both sides. We need to change it. That's what I do know. They're both wrong and neither is right. Am I right? Is what I think is best right? Probably not. So much corruption, lies and secrecy...where does one even begin to decide on who to vote for and who is best for all?

If there was a way for people to see the truth and be able to make a choice? To review the history of a leader through their lives and see what effects their choices made through out their lives on humanity, on their neighbors and friends, without the gloss, hype and hidden acts? To be able to judge the tree by it's real fruit...to see the past, and make predictions based on that to see the future. I think there are ways to do it. But we have to stop allowing secrecy in way shape or form. You have to be a totally open book when you want to lead a nation, and that's the way it should be. I want to see your growth. I want to see what you've done for the people. I want to see the mistakes you've made, the friends you have, the company you keep, and how you've seen to change your ways or any damage that you've ever done. I see no reason for people to hide their past. If they have risen above their mistakes...wow. That's terrific.

But if these mistakes were hidden from us, and the future leader is leading us on and hides those errors, and has continued to make them through out their lives...no, I would not want that person to be the leader of my people, or any people. Do people make mistakes, screw up, do things for money...sure...and then if they felt they did something wrong...what did they do to correct that behavior? Were they selfish, and did they continue to make friends based on what they or their family get out of it? Or did they use what they received to make others life better?

I just think we can get there, and I feel we can demand this. We are so easily fooled. Oh he's so great, and he's left, or he's right, or he's black or he's white, she's a woman, lets vote for him/her. Nonsense. Now I research the heck out of our future presidents. I'm not really happy with the choices we've had. Wish there was a way to take big money out of the equation, it has a horrible influence on the options we have for leaders.

I've found out more about politics and elections in my country this year than any time in my life. I spent the time, hours turned into days, days turned into weeks and months, but I did the research. I can say without a flinch that even when people are shown a horrible truth, beyond a reasonable doubt, that would be a guilty verdict in any criminal court, they will call it a lie and vote their party line. That to me is insanity.

I don't know what this woman did or didn't do. I've never really cared a whole lot until the last few years of my life about any of it. But there comes a time when one just can't go on denying that it's all very messed up, and maybe I've been sleeping thinking all was right with the world, and people who know more than I will decide what's best. Not so. Wish I woke up 20 years ago.

We can change the future. I believe it with all my heart.

By watching this great documentary, The Shock Doctrine (1 hr and 18 min long), you will get an idea about what she did. And others like her. It's very hard to watch, but I highly recommend it. I personally learned a lot from it.

I enjoyed this article written on Thatcher after she died by the singer Morrissey: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2013/04/08/morrissey-thatcher-was-a-terror-without-an-atom-of-humanity.html

Great example of what a female psychopath in politics (not to many of them) "looks" like.

What is interesting to note is the strong reaction (positive and negative) to the news of her death. It will be interesting to see how the police and media in London handle her funeral next week because I expect there will be some protesters and people wanting to make a statement and demonstrating this.

Of Thatcher:

Morrissey said:
Iron? No. Barbaric? Yes.

Up north the authoritarians have been lining up to spread honey words on her life. Most excruciating was our Ex PM Brian (Brown Paper Bag) Mulroney's recent display of nostalgic moments with his counterpart at the time, Thatcher, and of course Reagan - three peas in a pod.

As actor Andrea Riseborough said here:

Her connection with humanity was a very loose thread. Emotionally, she was not in touch with herself or anybody else. As well as being such an intelligent woman, I would say she had psychopathic tendencies.

Although in a further comment, she was not exactly clear on the implications - from the SotT comment about her question of "tendencies" of Thatcher:

Andrea said:
As I understand it, the term implies a tendency not to feel as much guilt about one's actions as perhaps one ought to.

SotT Comment:

Not quite, but close enough for horseshoes. Ms. Riseborough's formulation implies that there is a moral dimension to the problem. At root, the problem with psychopaths in power is not that they are doing things they ought not to be doing; it's that, as psychopaths, they cannot do differently because they have no conscience.

This say's it well.

Yes.

I had a lovely experience in uni on Tuesday of this hysterical authoritarian girl arguing about how Thatcher was a great leader, and that she would happily go into politics and "be the next Thatcher". Here's hoping for a well placed meteor fragment

I've been thinking it would be great if no one pitched up to see the funeral procession. What a cool way to protest :P

Not a chance...
People like her will always have followers...we are living in a psychopath world remember ?
The sad thing is, she will probably receive a funeral so big, that you will ask yourself if canonization will be next.

Here you can see:

"Glenda Jackson launches tirade against Thatcher in tribute debate" {in parliament}

_https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=XDtClJYJBj8#at=135

Causing howls of outrage, and grimaces on fellow Labour MPs faces, Glenda Jackson MP defies the respectful mood of the chamber by launching a nasty, angry and ferocious assault on 'Thatcherism' - earrings bouncing around - in a debate marked by calm tribute to the late great Lady Thatcher.
