Hi Lirpa,
I did download it a couple of years ago, but only did a quick browse.

Maybe you can share why you found it interesting and what you discovered, so as to contribute something for other interested forumites. It could perhaps even encourage me to have another look at it ;)

I skimmed it about a year ago. Came across it again when I was organizing my computer files and thought I would post it here. I need to read it again but I am in the middle of moving this weekend. Once the dust settles I will go over it again and provide some information :)

Yes, I have read the book in its intirety, and am going to read it again. This seems to be the only (so far) sane approach to the subject of individual sovereignty. Many of the sites I have run across (including the one on which I found the free download of her book) seem to be quite out of date and produce a plethora of information, but no way for a layman to research same. This is unfortunate if it is a valid action to take, because the credibility of those who post these websites and their abundance of substantiating information goes down the chute for me. Poor command of the language and no desire to correct (I have offered my copy editing services for free) makes me take a step or two back. Perhaps I'm a snob or something, but I see language as our only, albeit poor, method of communicating at present. But I digress, I guess. Point is, the people who post the info seem a little flakey, and decline (apparently) to disclose their credentials, and/or any other type of data that might make one think that their information is valid. How did THESE people become experts, I ask myself? They don't claim to have done it themselves, now do they? Is this an area rife with govt harrassment, so everything is sort of "arms length?" Or is this just another scam that keeps us all distracted. Is this another "too good to be true" things? It would follow that it would be "debunked" if it were a valid action to take, because WHO would want their subject to escape the prison? On the other hand, if it's valid, why isn't there more information about it? Upon request for a little help in researching their postulates and declarations I get no response. Basically, how do I KNOW, that what they are quoting and posting, is true? It's that simple. So, I remain a researching sceptic. I must say that Croft's book seems to be a very sane approach, in that it embraces technical, or "practical", if you will, as well as the spiritual dynamics of the undertaking of becoming sovereign. It's the "enlightened vs frightened" if you will, approach to denouncing this oppression we all FEEL. I do, however, plan to try to find her and pose questions to her, as her book is also full of "this woman" and "This man"... I haven't really seen anything yet, that I can, myself, take responsibility for by doing my due diligence. She does mention that she studied law, but not in any school. I've studied law too... so what? I'll continue on, and if you'd like to research this together, or you've found information you'd like to share, I'm a willing and grateful recipient. Until then... "keep me posted" for now... lotbotm

Thanks for the comment about the book being useless... I will look further, of course. I have posted on the page that your link sent me to, which is apparently (remember, I'm new at this, so please forgive me if I missed the point in the place where you directed me) some discussion on Russo's movie, and bringin us up to today, we know he passed away this past August 24th after some battle with cancer (and after disconnecting from N Rockefeller... hmm.. what a coinkydink).

Anyway, yes, I've seen the movie, it's quite good. I know about the concentration camps, I'm aware of what is being done to try to eliminate Chavez, I've read "Rule by Secrecy" and "Confessions of an Economic Hitman", I've watched "The Coroporation" and "Zeitgeist", and still don't quite understand, fully, the reason that you are dissing the Mary Croft book as "useless". I'm perfectly willing to see the "uselessness" of it, but really, and specifically, I would appreciate you being very specific. Of course to try to do the redemption thing would/will be somewhat dangerous, but if you have some information about it in terms of it's uselessness, please cite and be specific, as I really do want to learn and DO want to explore this option more. For instance, is this a scam, the whole redemption thing? Is it not possible and this is just some rumor forwarded by those who would entrap us? No one, including yourself, has given me anything else in terms of getting us all out of this mess. Upon reading it, I actually felt a real relief at the thought of stepping OUT of the game, not flying UNDER the radar, or being "off the grid". I do believe —whether it's this way, or that— that we do need to quit laboring at (and funding) our own demise. We are providing both the fuel AND the fire for this plan to control, enslave, and depopulate us. Any help you (or anyone else, for that matter) could provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your response.

Lotbotm, during half an hour you have managed to skim over that SIX-pages long thread and write TWO medium lenght hard-to-read "stream of consciousness" posts...

Fast automatic reading-writting capability is something to be expected from a quality computer component - be it hard drive, memory, processor, etc. However, we are not in "automatons manufacturing business" - we are in "the consciousness business". This is a tricky one, were a would-be entrepreneur can hope to be successful only when he treads SLOWLY and ATTENTIVELY.

Specifics, which you are asking for were already laid out in that thread and combined with the understanding of SOTT forum rules, methods and goals it should become obvious why this book is "useless".

For others who didn't read the book I provide short excerpt from the beginning.

Mary Elizabeth Croft said:
WHAT HAPPENED

Around 1996 I noticed that my family was getting broker by the month and my fear level increased
exponentially. When I had to pay the telephone bill with a credit card I knew we were in trouble. I knew
that the entire credit card game was a scam due to my having read, back in 1990, a book called, Truth In
Money by Theodore R. Thoren. I also knew from my study of A Course In Miracles (ACIM) that nothing
is as it seems. Still, I didn't know what to do about the banks telephoning every day demanding ëpaymentí.
I detected, by the desperation in their voices, that at some subconscious level they also knew that I didnít
really have to pay any credit card debt, I just didnít know how to remove myself from the ostensible
obligation. If I had been truly obliged to pay credit card debt, these callers would have been kinder and just
asked when and how I might be able to send them part of what was ëowingí. Their rage was the tip-off that
they were bluffing.
One day, as I was out running, I burst into tears and was forced to ask my Creator what to do. I knew,
from A Course In Miracles that ëGodí would not put $50,000 on the kitchen table in the morning for me
to pay the credit card bills. I also knew that my real problem was not the fact of the matter, rather, how I felt
about it. As Krishnamurti said, There are no problems apart from the mind. If I could just change my
mind about what seemed to be a problem I felt certain I could resolve it. So I found myself asking the Holy
Spirit, et al, to change my mind about my circumstances.
Seek not to change the world; seek only to change your mind about the world. - ACIM

The next day a woman rang me requesting a session of Rapid Eye Technology (energy healing). Her
anxiety was that the IRS had been confiscating her husbandís veterans benefits to settle her ëdebtí with
them. All I could tell her, from my years of studying $$$, taxes, etc. was, iYou know there is no law
compelling you to pay tax on your income.î She DID know! I was delighted. I also told her, iIf it makes
you feel any better, youíre not alone - the credit card banks think I owe them $40,000. I know that I donít
really owe them, I just donít know how to prove it.î
Lo and behold, she said, iYou just send the letters.î I leapt from my chair - my prayer had indeed
been answered - ask and ye shall receive. She then produced a series of letters, the drift of which was to
request the bank to provide me with three things:
1. validation of the debt (the actual accounting);
2. verification of their claim against me (a sworn affidavit or even just a signed invoice); and,
3. a copy of the contract binding both parties.
I was to write, as soon as I received these three documents, that I would be happy to pay any financial
obligation I might lawfully owe.
The banks canít validate the debt because they never sustained a loss; they canít verify any claim
against me because I am not the NAME they are billing - more on this later. They canít produce a copy of
the contract because one doesnít exist. What exists is an unenforceable unilateral contract. What the banks
refer to as ëyour contract with usí is not a valid bilateral agreement since the four requirements of a lawful,
binding contract were not met on the credit card ëapplicationí, namely:
1. Full Disclosure (we are not told that we are creating the credit with our signature);
2. Equal Consideration (they bring nothing to the table, hence they have nothing to lose);
3. Lawful Terms and Conditions (they are based upon fraud); and
4. Signatures of the Parties (corporations canít sign because they have no right to contract as they are
legal fictions). Credit cards are win/ win for the banks and lose/ lose for everyone else - it is the slickest con
game on the planet.
My writing the letters worked for all but one account. The bank filed suit. I poured over all kinds of
legal nonsense, none of which matters - how we handle banks now works beautifully, yet back in 1996, we
were still fumbling - and so, since the card was in a NAME similar to that of my sonsí father, the bank
came after him. He did not want to go to court and since I regarded this as research, not to mention
adventure, I went in his place. (If youíre not living on the edge youíre taking up too much space.) When
the administrator (aka ëjudgeí) called his name, I stood up and said, iIím here about that matter.î A year
previous I had used a similar tactic when I went to court over a ëseat belt violationí and was promptly
thrown into jail for stating that my name was nowhere on the ticket or the summons. Although I was
accurate, I didnít know the next step. This time I knew what I was doing. The District Court Judge asked
me my name. I responded, iIf I tell you, will I have entered into a contract with you?î He became irate. I
knew I was onto something. He furiously said, iIím going to ask you again; what is your name?î I said
the same thing again and was literally, bodily tossed from court. On my way out I told the bailiff, iI believe
I hit a nerve.î I was ecstatic.
As it turned out, I had indeed hit on the only issue which matters. CONTRACT. Contract Law is the
only law. There is no Constitutional Law, Bill of Rights, Charter of Rights and Freedoms, no codes, rules,
regulations, ordinances, statutes, by-laws, or anything else which most people think of as ëlawí which
applies to free, sovereign people. They all apply only to corporate entities. There is only one law which
applies to us: the law which protects the life, liberty, rights, and property of all living souls. That which
causes us to think that all these "laws" apply to us is the contracts/ agreements we have made, either
wittingly or unwittingly. If there is no contract there is no case. Contract is the law. Contractual Financial
Liability is all that matters; and it must be proven.

i always run to sott to check such developments as mary elizabeth croft. i have no definitive comment on her work...but just one blog post of hers is enough to make me not want to give her my money. it seems one would need to study law to actually verify her claims about the law, and her mix of spirituality into this topic seems to add validity but does not clarify what she is claiming as legal (or spiritual even). i basically tend to agree with joda...her stuff is useless. i have been 'studying' gurdjieff...living this work and do not see yet where croft offers any spiritual advice. again, i did not read all her writings but she reminds me of a recent criss angel episode. he climbs the luxor and screams and says to the viewers "all you have to do is dream it." hmm. really? i feel like she is climbing a big hill with a paper cut out angel...then releases it in a strong wind and says "see how my angel flies?". she starts a post on love talking about how adam and eve ate the mushroom (it looks like an apple). okay, but how again did they manage to populate the planet? doesn't the size of a gene pool matter?

for what it's worth.

I read her book a few years ago and was quite taken with it for a time. I even wrote to her to ask if there were any step by step guides to gaining individual sovereignty (she meanders quite a bit in the book and makes some bold claims but never actually tells you HOW she went about it, if I remember correctly). She wrote me back saying the rules change too quickly to write a definitive guide - a non-answer, really.

One thing that always bothered me about the book is that, if her premise is correct and that she and others she's reporting on actually get away with what she says they do, every cop, judge and politician would have to be in on the scam. For instance, she claims that it is up to your discretion to accept or not a sentence handed down by a judge and tells the unbelievable story of a woman who simply refused a ruling and was allowed to leave the court scott free. She talks about getting out of police altercations by telling the officer you "don't want to enter into a contract" with them. She also talks about returning your birth certificate to get out of paying taxes, driving without a license and generally not recognizing any authority outside of yourself (I haven't read the book in years so I may be remembering some of this wrong).

But, in order for this to work, like I said, every authority figure would have to be in on it. I know this can't possibly be the case. Try driving without a license and then telling the officer you don't want to enter into a contract with them and see how far that gets you. It all sounds like fantasy to me.

Also, her obsession with the Course In Miracles stuff is a bit disconcerting. All in all I think I'd have to agree with j0da's assessment. While it's an interesting read, it's a pretty useless book. I think that, in principle, what she's writing about is useful, but there is nothing practical there.

OSIT.
