Multiple people were feared dead at Bondi Beach after multiple shots were fired, forcing people to flee as police warned the public to take shelter.

Just after 6.40pm on Sunday 14th December 2025, residents reported police cars streaming into the area and hundreds of people running away from the beach.

People in Bondi reported hearing up to 50 gunshots and people on the ground near Campbell Parade.

A 30-year-old local, Harry Wilson, witnessed the shooting, telling this masthead he “saw at least 10 people on the ground and blood everywhere”.

Video posted online showed multiple people who appeared to have been shot lying the ground, and members of the public frantically applying CPR.

A man, believed to be one of the shooters, has been shot by police, while a man believed to be a second shooter has been arrested.

Australia hasn't experienced a mass shooting for quite some time.

A shooting during Hanukkah celebrations at Bondi Beach in Sydney has left at least three dead and ten wounded; around 2,000 people were evacuated in panic, with many taking shelter.

ZAKA reported that the shooting at Bondi Beach during Hanukkah celebrations in Sydney, Australia, is being treated as a terrorist attack targeting the Jewish community. Around 60 people were reportedly injured, and at least 10 have been confirmed dead.

Sky News reported that about 2,000 members of the Jewish community were gathered for the event when the shooting occurred. Chaos erupted while one of the community leaders was addressing the crowd. Opposition Leader Kelly Sloane was scheduled to speak at the event when the gunfire began.

A member of the Jewish community in Australia, who was on her way to the celebration, shared, “There was mass panic. This is a Chabad-organized event mainly for parents with young children. From what I understand, there’s great fear. Everyone was pushed further up the beach for safety. Australians aren't used to events like this, so right now, I’m trying to reassure my friend who was nearby but wasn’t injured.”

A local resident, Shay, said, "This was expected. The level of daily hatred towards Jews here is abnormal." Another anonymous member of the community added, "We all knew it was just a matter of time, but some politicians dismissed our concerns."

Appears to be targeting hanukkah gatherings there. Seen a bunch of videos of what and appears to be multiple shooters and heard over 20 people dead so far. The video shared of one of the shooters shows someone highly trained. The story is already shaping up to be about terrorism - likely will be directed towards Hamas. Of course who benefits - wouldn't be the Palestinian people.

Obtaining police a gun licence is no mean feat in Australia since Port Arthur, numerous hoops to jump through (& from peeps I know who have applied for a licence as they live on a farm) the govt. knows every time you sneeze. So where and how did these two shooters get access to semi-automatic guns with plenty of magazines?

The shooters appeared to both be wearing ammo belts, with at least one of the weapons being scooped.

The firearms appeared to be semiautomatic with magazines seen on the ground.

At least three firearms appeared to be present during the shooting.

And definitely targeting the Jewish community, already we are being hailed as a society with increasing anti-semitism:
The rest of the world has reacted in horror as more details of the deadly mass shooting at Sydney’s Bondi Beach continue to emerge. At least 10 people have been confirmed dead, included children and a police officer, after two gunmen opened fire on crowds in what is believed to be a targeted attack on a Jewish event.

One gunman is understood to have been shot dead and another has been shot and is custody while being worked on by emergency services.

Israel’s President Isaac Herzog has spoken out, condemning the “vile” attack and calling on the Australian government to fight the “enormous wave of antisemitism” he claims is “plaguing Australian society”.

How many active shooters are in this clip? Is the guy on the bridge at the end a cop or an active shooter?
I believe that's the 2nd active shooter. Which explains why one was arrested (previously disarmed in the video) and one shot dead (still armed and shooting).

It's estimated that there are 200K-500K illegal firearms in Australia so it's not difficult for criminals in the right circles to obtain weapons. It's just that gun crime is quite low and generally relegated to gang wars.

But we can be sure that the official discussion following this attack will definitely not be about relaxing gun laws in order for law-abiding citizens to protect themselves with firearms in public. Authorities will likely call for even tighter restrictions on guns (plus more surveillance and social controls).

News reports state two active shooters. One that was tackled by a civilian & then made his way to the bridge, at which point one of the shooters was killed in the police shootout.

Drone footage here showing the two gunmen on the bridge:

And another article about the man who tackled the gunman relieving him of his weapon:

Indeed. I’ve no doubt there is a black market for these things in gang land and with crime syndicates, but acts of terrorism have been few and far between here (thankfully), relatively speaking.

Authorities will likely call for even tighter restrictions on guns (plus more surveillance and social controls).
Definitely more surveillance ‘for our safety’ of course, and making sure to curb ‘rising antisemitism’.

Pauline Hansons statement:

STATEMENT

Today is an extremely dark day for our nation, particularly the Australian Jewish community, which appears to be the target of this terrorist attack.

The Prime Minister never heeded the warning signs, including the weekly anti-semitic protests across our nation, hate speech from certain religious clerics, our obnoxious universities and probable terrorist alert.

I stand with Australia’s Jewish community, who tonight deserve our absolute solace.

You have the same right to live in peace and harmony as all Australians.

Authorities must be honest when revealing the identities and backgrounds of these murderers.

## END ##

If you want to get serious about the immigration problem, then no one race or religion should be protected and all murderers regardless of race or religion should not have their background or identities suppressed. Despite One Nation gaining popularity here, I don't feel very encouraged by them when I read stuff like this.

The guy who tackled the first active shooter was very lucky in that case as the second active shooter could have easily targeted him. At least that's how it looks like.

Deserves some kind of national award I'd say.

Also shows how confusing an active crime scene is. Imagine you are a cop arriving on site. If you arrive at the "wrong" time, you'd think the civilian who had disarmed the active shooter was an active shooter himself!!
