Shootings and Mass Shootings

Oh boy, here we go again... Copy pasting for archiving the first report I just saw on Sputnik.

And this happens just after Trump declaring national emergency, and Pelosi saying how the real national emergency is gun owners (or something to that fashion). Someone is obviously not happy with how things are going, so distractions in form of shootings are needed...?

Local schools have since been placed on lockdown, and residents in the area have been advised to avoid traveling near the site, which is located at 401 S Highland Ave. Kendall County officials were first called to the scene at roughly 1:35 p.m. local time.

Megan Jones, a local reporter for the Beacon News, tweeted out that the Aurora police are "requesting as many ambulances as possible for an active shooter with many injuries."

Citing a law enforcement source, Illinois news station WGN9 is reporting that one Aurora police officer "is down."
Though it's presently unclear how many injuries and fatalities have resulted from the shooting, local media reports suggest multiple civilians have been shot and that as many as four officers were also wounded. The severity of the injuries are unclear, and the shooter is still at large.
The Daily Herald is reporting that many of the victims were airlifted to the Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
MORE DETAILS TO COME.

From The Daily Herald at 2/15/2019 2:50 PM:

4 Aurora cops, multiple civilians shot; shooter at large

Four Aurora police officers and multiple civilians have been wounded and the suspected shooter is still at large in an industrial area near Prairie and Highland avenues, according to preliminary reports from the scene.
There are unconfirmed reports that at least one civilian is dead. Multiple victims are being airlifted to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.

Preliminary reports indicate the shooting took place at the Henry Pratt Company, a manufacturing firm, at 401 S. Highland.

"There is an active shooter near Highland and Archer. Aurora Police are on the scene. More information will be available soon," the city of Aurora said on Twitter.

SWAT teams from throughout the suburbs are being called to the scene as is the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Police are urging anyone in the area of Prairie and Highland to shelter in place. Nearby Holy Angels School and some area businesses are on lockdown.

Nancy Caal, an employee of Erwin's Truck Repair, 735 Prairie St., said she and three others are locked down inside the shop.

"We have not heard from the police, but we can hear all the sirens so I went and shut the front gate and locked all of the doors," Caal said. "I've got three people here with me and there's four people in the building behind me, too. We're not seeing much because we prefer to be all the way inside the building and not in the windows. We're staying calm."

Okay, the suspect is now said to be detained. I'm already seeing Twitter personas with 'blue checkmarks' tweeting how THIS is the real national emergency, and how does Trump dare to fly to Florida when all this is going on.

I have a bad feeling that there's more to come...

A bus full of schoolchildren was hijacked and set on fire by its own driver on Wednesday in an apparent protest against migrant drownings in the Mediterranean, Italian authorities said.

All 51 children managed to escape unhurt before the bus was engulfed in flames on the outskirts of Milan, Italy’s business capital. Police named the driver as Ousseynou Sy, a 47-year-old Italian citizen of Senegalese origin.

“He shouted, ‘Stop the deaths at sea, I’ll carry out a massacre’,” police spokesman Marco Palmieri quoted Sy as telling police after his arrest.

A video posted on Italian news sites showed the driver ramming the bus into cars on a provincial highway before the fire took hold. Children can be seen running away from the vehicle screaming and shouting “escape”.

One of the children told reporters that the driver had threatened to pour petrol over them and set them alight. One of group managed to call the police, who rushed to the scene and broke the bus windows to get everyone to safety.

Palmieri said some children were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure because they had bruises or were in a state of shock, but none suffered serious injuries.

A teacher who was with the middle school children was quoted by Ansa news agency as saying that the driver had said he wanted to get to the runway at Milan’s Linate airport.

An unnamed girl was also quoted as saying that Sy blamed deputy prime ministers Matteo Salvini and Luigi Di Maio for the deaths of African migrants at sea.

The United Nations estimates that some 2,297 migrants drowned or went missing in the Mediterranean in 2018 as they tried to reach Europe.

A Libyan security official said on Tuesday that at least 10 migrants died when their boat sank off the Libyan coast near the western town of Sabratha.

The Italian government has closed its ports to charity rescue ships that pick up migrants off the Libyan coast. Salvini says this has helped reduce deaths because far fewer people are now putting to sea.

Human rights groups say deaths might have increased with hardly any boats now searching for the would-be refugees.

‘VIOLENT JIHAD’
In one of his earliest posts, he suggested that “America needs another Vegas event,” an apparent reference to the 2017 mass shooting at a ]country music concert in Las Vegas where a lone gunman perched in a nearby hotel killed 58 people and wounded hundreds, the complaint alleged.

Domingo, who said he wanted to become a martyr, also made reference to the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, according to the complaint. During one meeting in person with an FBI operative, he arrived carrying an AK 47-style assault rifle, telling the informant: “I just wanted to show you that I’m serious.”

According to a law enforcement database, Domingo is the registered owner of three semi-automatic rifles. An FBI spokeswoman said received a less-than-honorable discharge from the Army.

Prosecutors say Domingo contemplated drive-by shootings and detonating a bomb at the Santa Monica pier before deciding to bomb a rally scheduled for Sunday, April 28, in the Los Angeles suburb of Long Beach that he believed was organized by white nationalists.

Domingo and two FBI informants
visited the planned site of the rally to scout the best location to place explosives to cause the greatest casualties, authorities said, agreeing that they would leave the scene separately to throw off suspicion. He as arrested shortly after placing one of the mock bombs into the vehicle of an informant

The announcement of Domingo’s arrest came two days after a gunman opened fire in a San Diego-area synagogue, killing one woman and wounding three others, including the rabbi. John Earnest, 19, was arrested.
There was no indication the two incidents were connected.

2 killed, 4 injured in University of North Carolina shooting on last day of classes
Two people have been killed and at least four injured in a shooting at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Police reportedly have one male suspect in custody.

Shots were fired near the Kennedy building on the UNCC campus on Tuesday afternoon around 4:40pm and the campus was temporarily locked down in response, with the school issuing an alert advising students to remain in a safe location. As police swept the remaining buildings on the campus, students were released to reunite with parents or family members at a designated location.

Numerous emergency vehicles responded to the scene.
Two patients were dead on arrival and three more were in critical condition, according to police. Six victims in total were taken to to area hospitals.

Videos retweeted by local media show students running and walking away from the building where the shooting occurred and police running toward the building, as well as a high concentration of emergency vehicles, including helicopters flying overhead.

https://emergency.uncc.edu/ said:
⚠ NinerAlert: The campus remains on lockdown while police clear each building. This could take several more hours. Check email for more details.

Last year, a UNCC student was arrested and committed to a hospital after telling a doctor that he “could not wait to buy a gun and shoot the university up” and discussing an “explicit detailed plan…about killing and harming [UNCC] students and staff,” according to campus police. A search of his room turned up a copy of the school’s emergency response guide, with the section on dealing with active shooters attached to the wall – but no weapons. The student was banned from entering the campus.

---Why authorities indicate/order children to go out with their hands on their heads in shootings? as if they were criminals, they are terrorized enough ... sad to see those kind of images ...
