Massive open online courses (MOOCs)

FWIW, there is an introduction to linux course on edx.org. It's a 40 hours course that begins on August 1st.

Supposedly, the class is normally offered for US$2,500. Being through edX, it is free. Just thought someone might be interested in it.

They also provide the option to 'audit' the course "and have complete access to all of the course material, tests, and the online discussion forum. You can decide what and how much you want to do. This option is free to all."

As a side note the edx platform is open source and available for anyone wishing to setup similar: https://github.com/edx/

A course on "Learning How to Learn" (some simply presented cognitive psychology and some extras in the form of interviews) has recently ended on Coursera (I joined after it began), but another session will be from October 3rd to November 3rd. https://www.coursera.org/course/learning

Many may find it worth checking out.
