By Mark Memmott

Internet chatter had led to speculation that it might be an urban myth -- nothing more than clever digital trickery spreading via the Web.

But our friend Bob Collins at Minnesota Public Radio assures us he's seen it with his own eyes:

There is a billboard along I-35 near Wyoming, Minn., with a huge photo of former president George W. Bush and this question: "Miss Me Yet?"

Now, the push is on to find out who paid to have it put up.

Bob says there's no readily apparent claim of ownership on the billboard, so he's heading back to the scene to see if he can find out who's behind the message. He's also got some local politicos looking into it. He'll keep us posted.

At first glance, it would seem to be from some person or group who isn't thrilled by President Barack Obama's performance so far -- unless it's a more ironic message from those who didn't think too much of Bush and want to remind voters about him.

Anyone out there know anything about where it came from? Tell us and we'll pass the word to Bob. As he says, we could do a little crowdsourcing.

updated article from Huffington post says that "The billboard was funded a group of Minnesota businessmen trying to make a political statement."

Here's the billboard in question:

And to also couldn't resist with this one:

A poem composed of Bush's quotes

Bush said:
MAKE THE PIE HIGHER
by George W. Bush

I think we all agree, the past is over.
This is still a dangerous world.
It's a world of madmen and uncertainty
and potential mental losses.

Rarely is the question asked

Is our children learning?
Will the highways of the Internet become more few?
How many hands have I shaked?

They misunderestimate me.
I am a pitbull on the pantleg of opportunity.
I know that the human being and the fish can coexist.
Families is where our nation finds hope, where our wings take dream.

Put food on your family!

Knock down the tollbooth!
Vulcanize society!
Make the pie higher! Make the pie higher!

rant:
Well, I don't blame this "group of Minnesota businessmen" from hiding from a public display of 'ownership' of this 'message'. If I knew who they were, I would be tempted to make a 'statement' of my own.

At any rate, do you see the esoteric symbolism? There is a missing link between what is done to make an impact on someone and the someone who has BEing, the ability to reason from a position of solid ground and to stand that ground because it's "the truth."

Just another example (if it's real) of the actions of cowards and gleefully destructive, irresponsible people, osit.

/rant.

Actually, the first thought I had was, OMG, the C's said that Bush would be president for life! He's coming back!

Assuming it's a right wing political statement, it wouldn't surprise me if these businessmen were all cozy with the national Chamber of Commerce, the Heritage Foundation, AIPAC, and the Murdoch media empire.
It's a wonderful nostalgic tool, as it invokes "Bush 43" as being a symbol of the "good ole days", with unfettered consumerism, lax regulation on all things financial and corporate, and perpetual war against evil.
These elements are neatly being advertised as making people better off.
Americans are being told to return to these "core values" in order to get the country back on track.
I suspect this tactic will bear fruit with the general population, especially when adding "God" to the mix, claiming that God is with America and wants America to rid the world of all things evil.
The Fox News fascist talking head, Sean Hannity, is getting ready to announce his battle plan to take America back, drive liberal, progressive scum into the sea, and deal once and for all with Iran.
Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh also spout the same talking points.

Actually, one of the stronger points being made in the Freeman Perspective is that Obama is not the legal president, mostly because he is not a natural born citizen, and, he didn't really take the oath of office (muffed it at the public ceremony and private ceremony was not publicly recorded/viewed). So, if Obama was declared ineligible to be President, where would that leave us? Is it possible for Bush to regain the presidency? Or would the VP be in charge until the next election?

Seems to me all that is just a bunch of distraction. The whole idea that 'muffing' a ceremony would affect whether one is really president or not doesn't hold water. The president is a puppet anyway - so it matters not in the big picture. If Freeman pushes this type of stuff, he's either woefully uninformed or disinfo - just my take, I could be off.

when ever I log to yahoo mails, the news heading pop for viewing. Instant look at the heading tells the patting ( when ever he does what masters wants, or elevating his family members ) and threatening of obama ( through the articles that raises the doubts of his legitimacy , elevating sarah palin etc) tells me that there is certain programming/monitoring going on in measure the people's reactions to different things and some times reactions is deliberately raised most probably as a opener for some other move ( distraction).

sarah palin coin is very interesting one in that perspective. Looking at the insensitivity of the PTB to the people's needs, they can easily attempt to sell sarah palin, if needed. C's comments 'Bush will president for life' is very appropriate. race card still sells its goods. After his new haiti humanitarian chief hat, PTB wants to test/measure how much this has changed impressions in people's mind. If that is satisfactory , next move may come- associating bush ( ideology) to palin and try to sell palin

A past thread brought up interesting information concerning Obama's citizenship. In case anyone missed it here it is.
