A sheriff deputy's dashcam caught the moment he spotted and rescued a 2-year-old boy running down a busy highway in Newport, Oregon.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office in Oregon shared the dashcam footage from Jan. 9 on Facebook this week to alert the public about the "dangers of distracted driving."

Deputy Jeremy Gautney was traveling on U.S. Route 101 when he discovered the toddler "running down the middle of the highway in his lane of travel," Lt. Curtis Landers said in the video. Gautney "quickly came to a stop and rescued the child from the danger of passing motorists."

EPISODE DESCRIPTION

The disappearance and eventual death of 39-year-old Todd Sees has been one of the most mysterious cases in modern ufology.

In the early morning of August 4th, 2002,Todd Jeffrey Sees rode his ATV, starting at his home at the base of Montour Ridge in Northumberland County, PA. (Point Township), on a short jaunt up a mountain trail adjacent to a sprawling high power line. After he failed to return home by noon, the family became concerned and notified the authorities.

A massive search effort ensued...which included search & rescue personnel (with search dogs and helicopters), local & state police, as well as an organized search team that numbered 200+ volunteers. The entire area from the top of the ridge, adjacent woods and the family property was explored...including a small pond located 70 feet from the Sees house. Divers and dogs searched the area in and around the pond...without success.

The effort continued for approximately 36 hours...until the second morning of the search, a family member noticed something in the bushes around the fore-mentioned pond. Todd Sees body had been discovered...in an area that was heavily searched the previous day.

Since that time, there has been very little information released to the public. The death was ruled as 'fatal cocaine toxicity'...despite evidence suggesting that something else most likely occurred. The circumstances involving the recovery, handling, autopsy and final arrangements with the body are also mired in controversy.

A joint investigation by Butch Witkowski / Cold Case Unit of the UFO Research Center of PA and the Phantoms & Monsters Fortean Research team has uncovered previously undisclosed information in regards to this incident. This briefing will include objective & authentic discoveries...and the roundtable discussion will present an opportunity for the participants to fashion plausible scenarios as to what may have actually occurred.

NOTICE: Though the investigation has not concluded, the team has begun to formulate a probable scenario as to what occurred and why Todd J. Sees died. The only statement we could give at this time is that, as of 1/22/2016, the UFO abduction theory has a greater than 50% likelihood to have transpired as
an aspect to this case. This information is in accordance with the evidence we currently have. Any further updates will be posted at this site page.

The Todd Sees Death Investigation has entered a new phase. The UFO Research Center of Pennsylvania team and it's accredited investigators had 'boots on the ground' in Northumberland County, PA., in particular, the former Sees homestead and significant locations pertinent to the case.

Some of the new information was presented and compiled during the Paranormal Round Table, which convened in Alburtis, PA on Saturday, April 18th, 2015. The investigators were once again in Northumberland County on Sunday, April 19th following up on other leads.

Since I wasn't able to attend the event on Saturday, I discussed the new findings with UFORCOP Director Butch Witkowski on Sunday and began to peruse the recently discovered evidence after it was forwarded to me.

At this point, the current consensus among the team is that Todd Jeffrey Sees of Point Township in Northumberland County, PA, who went missing on August 4th, 2002, was a victim of unexplained circumstances that resulted in an extraordinary death.

This is not a final conclusion, but only the best theory currently available. Specific details, other than what had been presented earlier, will not be disclosed at this time. The team is making significant progress, but there are other inquiries and leads to examine.

David Paulides discusses the topic of his multiple books, which is mysterious disappearances, which as we are informed, have increased over the last three years. Paulides has documented over 1400 cases that fit a certain criteria, which previously included clusters of vanishing people from National Parks and the refusal of authorities to investigate or help him in his investigations.

Children disappearing from right under their parents noses, later found in areas described as "inaccessible," with no explanation as to how those children ended up there. Clothing found. sometimes neatly folded. Bodies discovered in locations that had already been searched a dozen times, even one instance where the body suddenly appeared on the very trail that searchers used to access other locations to search.

Either a few well-placed 'negative' reviews (or a deliberate complete ignoring of it). In other words, let Paulides and co spend the promotional money first before quashing it. Or that even if reviewers like it... no one will step forward to distribute it (having been warned off).

Here's hoping that 'ole 'wishful thinking' trips them up again, though... that they assume it's too minor, too 'fringe' to interfere with much.

My guess is that the PTB are going to ignore it, and yes, not distribute it, and rely on the 'fringe phenomenon', i.e. that not enough people will watch or believe it or draw materialistic conclusions so that there won't be any type of public outcry about it that's big enough to force the PTB into taking a stance. So the only way for distribution will be via social networks and word of mouth - which can effect unexpected waves on its own, even if 'only' to raise more people's awareness on the high strangeness factor and us being mere food to other denizens. Once that happens though there'll probably be another myriad attempts at adding to the diversion of people's interprations and viewpoints in what's already a murky scenario.

In any case, Paulides' research work is commendable, as is his open-mindedness and his clever reservation about fixed, definite conclusions. I hope his documentary can be completed and aired soon. I'm currently reading his first book on Bigfoot The Hoopa Project, which is very interesting as well and contains the sketches made by Harvey Pratt working with the witnesses' descriptions. They do have human-looking faces. Most interesting is that the Hoopa believe that the bigfoot lives in two dimensions and can travel between them. So, that book is definitely worth checking out, too. His second bigfoot book Tribal Bigfoot should also be interesting, but is unfortunately out of print, not even available on his website and very expensive on amazon.

This year the NPS celebrates its centennial, and Redford will commemorate the occasion by narrating an Imax film, debuting on giant screens across the world on February 12. National Parks Adventure -- told from the perspective of world-class mountaineer Conrad Anker and his friends -- will wander from Yellowstone to the Everglades to the Redwoods. The shoot employed an aerial film crew to capture the swooping grandeur of the country's wild areas set aside for posterity.

There's no way for the movie to include all 409 national parks, but as Redford points out, even one is enough to open the door to a life in the outdoors. "A few years after that first visit, I applied for a job in Yosemite. I spent two summers working at Camp Curry and at Yosemite Lodge as a waiter. It gave me a chance to really be there every day -- to hike up to Vernal Falls or Nevada Falls. It just took me really deep into it. Yosemite claimed me."

And a lot of other people, too, buddy, if Paulides is correct....though not quite in the same way you mean.

Troubling intimations from a closed facebook group I recently joined which covers esoteric and paranormal topics. An Ohio journalist (Andrew West Griffin) chimed in to a thread yesterday about the Missing 411 series to claim that, despite him having sent Paulides an e-mail communication that included a positive review of his 411 work, that Paulides' reply was an 'unprovoked' attack. When challenged by several group members for details, etc., he claimed that this had happened to more than one person who had corresponded with him.

My first knee-jerk thought: Classic defaming psyops activity. (Having an e-mail exchange that isn't what one had hoped it would be is not grounds for proclaiming semi publically that someone is 'not to be trusted' or is 'not a balanced guy'.)
My 2nd thought: And/or Griffin has an Issue with provoked self-importance or e-mail communication issues. Without seeing said correspondence, no way to know.
My 3rd thought: To be honest, I'd be surprised, given the.... delicate... nature of what Paulides is trying to do... if he wasn't dealing with considerable pressure, stress, etc. If he is...

...I just hope it isn't getting to him too much. :/
