Missing links and ¿articles?

I do check SOTT RSS every day.
Too many links make me 'save the link' for further review.
I did today a full check of all articles that are "pending to read" and I found too many are missing.
I consider this situation to be extreme and as a consequence I consider my feedback is needed.
I wish you to consider the option of an improvement, as I found it is required.
At the end of this post I attach all the links that were in my list and today are missing.

I do understand that from time to time, some are deleted. Nonetheless, the article content can be replaced by a common page saying "this article had been removed", much better instead of error 404 resource not found.

To help on diagnostic I also attach two samples links:

I did notice that sometimes the article after being released is edited, changed somehow that requires to publish it again.
This action effectively change the URL, and in my humble opinion ... this is a mess.
¿How can we store links and redistribute, email them? To justify this question statistic data: I saved 103 links, now I got 59 working.

I also noticed that sometimes the article's "subject", available in the URL address, is changed and some letters are "upper case" instead of "lower case". Nonetheless the article content was not changed!
I also found this to be distressing.
Technically speaking you can change the subject, but not the article "primary key". I associate this key to the number that appears as the first part of the URL after the slash (the prefix to the article name).

Hope this post helps you to improve the whole thing. As SOTT is a must have site to cross check and access every day.
If technically speaking is not possible to fix, please let me know which software you're using and why do you believe it is not possible to fix. I also can think about it in order to implement a solution (perhaps my self).

Hi,

Many articles are no longer available since they were taken offline when we changed the format/focus of SOTT. Some of them may be coming back, and some of them may not be coming back. The ones that are moved back to the main SOTT site will have the same URLs that they used to have.

When some articles will return to the site depends on when our editors have time to comb through all 77,000 archived articles and decide which should be restored, and which shouldn't.

That could take awhile!

I had not in mind that the new look could be in relation to these articles and the publication process.

May the force be with you all, SOTT editors!

Nonetheless, it would be a great feature to be able to retrieve the "older version" (like a mirror). Don't know if this is possible. Or even to implement a dynamic IF, so when the "new version is not available" get the older one. (Just writing as I'm thinking this feature).

I'm working on it. I'll check your list above, too, jordifs, and see how many of those you have saved are slated to be restored and recategorized.
